I would have given them a higher score but we had a few issues.
First the restaurant and bar were closed on one of the 2 nights we stayed. For a premium cost hotel I would expect to be able to get a drink in the bar.
Breakfast was really poor. It was included in our rate but consisted of stale croissant and pan au chocolat. Poor selection of cured meat and cheese and one bowl of fruit salad. No toast.
I asked for an egg and my daughter a crepe. We were charged an extra £25!
Hotel was otherwise in a good location and rooms were lovely.
New member of staff had started that day and he was brilliant.

We stayed in the hotel for my anniversary. The location and the room were just perfect. You feel like living in a refurbished in a modern way, but historic museum. I would say the pricing was above the level for the hotel, but as I understand that was an overall problem for Venice these days due to biennale. The breakfast was nice and well served. We especially liked sitting in the little inner garden and drinking tea. A little escape in the crowded ancient city.

The room is quite big, the hair dryer is easy to use. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is not bad.
But when I left, I left a coat in the closet.
I called the hotel and they said they couldn't find it.
I will block this hotel if it is not clean.

It was very bad. The room was very stuffy. The temperature outside was more than ten degrees Celsius but it could be more than thirty degrees Celsius inside. There was no air conditioning. My friend and I were so stuffy that we couldn't sleep. There was no ventilation at all. When I asked the hotel, they said they couldn't turn on the circulation system yet, so they had to endure it. I didn't sleep well at all after spending 1,611 nights in the hotel. The room was very small and the hotel offered no compensation. And the front desk staff were indifferent and had no sense of service from the time we checked in to the time we left. Avoid lightning...
