Explora in the Sacred Valley of the Incas was designed as a headquarter from where to explore a remote and great destination: Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our lodge is within walking distance of the traditional village of Urquillos, a tiny settlement in which countless traditions are kept alive year-round by a lively and proud local community.
The 50 rooms have views of the cornfields and mountains. They were covered in wood and have cozy touches in the decoration, which transform them into a unique place to disconnect and enjoy the destination.
The gastronomic experience in Explora Sacred Valley of the Incas was developed exclusively by the renowned Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez, owner of the world’s number one restaurant in the world, according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 ranking.
Our cuisine is inspired by the Andes and its diversity of products, ingredients and traditions. Through it, we want each of our travelers to deeply connect with the territory we inhabit and live a unique gastronomic experience in the Valley.
Our Spa Pumacahua Bath House is a colonial house from the seventeenth century located on one side of the hotel’s corn terraces. Rescued by our restoration and archaeology team, it contains the hotel Spa where our guests can enjoy massages, the swimming pool, hot tubs and saunas.
Please note that some of our rates include entrance to Machu Picchu (subject to availability), meals, drinks, transfers, accommodations, and daily explorations.

Maravilloso hotel . Muy cómodos espacios comunes, excelente atención, alimentación y habitaciones . El área de spa y piscinas tienen un muy buen espacio y confortables servicios . El entorno otorga una paz y tranquilidad únicos . Muy pero muy recomendable .

We had an amazing stay at Explora Sacred Valley. The property is stunning—such a comfortable space with beautiful decor—and the staff were friendly and attentive. We only had three days and wished we could have stayed longer. The explorations were all wonderful, with the Maras Plateau hike being a standout. There’s such a great variety of options that I wish we’d had more time to experience even more. The spa was fantastic. We took full advantage of it, from using the yoga room for stretches to daily dips in the jacuzzi and relaxing massages. Stargazing was another special highlight. The food was delicious, and I appreciated that they were able to accommodate my vegan diet. I do wish there had been more plant-based protein options, especially since the explorations can be physically demanding. Lastly, the transfers from Cusco Airport and to the Ollantaytambo train station were seamless, making the whole experience feel effortless. We can’t wait to visit another Explora location.

O Explora sabe transformar uma viagem em algo inesquecível. A comida estava maravilhosa, os quartos verdadeiras obras de arte e os passeios foram muito especiais. Nós fomos com nossas crianças pequenas e desde já avisei que precisava de passeios mais tranquilos. Quem já foi ao explora sabe que eles são conhecidos por roteiros de passeios radicais. Já fui ao Explora no passado e amei essa pegada, mas dessa vez era diferente. Eles cuidaram para que minha família tivesse o melhor das experiências em cada passeio escolhido. Ouviram e acolheram nossas necessidades como ninguém. Sempre uma dor no coração ir embora do Explora.

O sinônimo da perfeição! A começar pela recepção, na pessoa da Alessandra, que foi muito amável. Os passeios maravilhosos e os guias verdadeiros professores (jose, JJ, Santos, Gabriel e Emanoel). Atendimento diferenciado. Todos sabem seu nome! A comida então, sem comentários. Mas não seria a mesma sem as pessoas que nos atenderem (Armando, yessica, Carlos, boris, são os que me lembro agora, mas todos com atendimento personalizado e de excelência)! Rumo ao explora Atacama !

Toller Ort, wir waren da als erster Stop auf unserer Peru Reise. Tolles Design, Essen, Umgebung und Staff. Wir haben uns die 3 Nächte sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Hotel bietet div Aktivitäten und Guides an, die alles mögliche abdecken. Auch gibt es eine kleine schöne Boutique mit Trekking Equipment im Hotel

Explora was an incredible experience of not only exploring the magical and beautiful Sacred Valley, Peru but to experience it with knowledgeable and fun guides, return at the end of the day to be pampered with award winning meals, smiles from positive staff members, peaceful and serene hotel surroundings, and time for choosing our next day's adventure! I miss the Andes, the Explora concept, all nourishing the soul!

Un hotel espectacular. Las vistas, la atención, las habitaciones y la comida . Muy recomendable porque además de muy bien ubicado tiene SPA y muchas actividades dentro del hotel. El valle sagrado donde está vale mucho la pena para estar por lo menos dos noches
