Explora in the Sacred Valley of the Incas was designed as a headquarter from where to explore a remote and great destination: Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our lodge is within walking distance of the traditional village of Urquillos, a tiny settlement in which countless traditions are kept alive year-round by a lively and proud local community.
The 50 rooms have views of the cornfields and mountains. They were covered in wood and have cozy touches in the decoration, which transform them into a unique place to disconnect and enjoy the destination.
The gastronomic experience in Explora Sacred Valley of the Incas was developed exclusively by the renowned Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez, owner of the world’s number one restaurant in the world, according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 ranking.
Our cuisine is inspired by the Andes and its diversity of products, ingredients and traditions. Through it, we want each of our travelers to deeply connect with the territory we inhabit and live a unique gastronomic experience in the Valley.
Our Spa Pumacahua Bath House is a colonial house from the seventeenth century located on one side of the hotel’s corn terraces. Rescued by our restoration and archaeology team, it contains the hotel Spa where our guests can enjoy massages, the swimming pool, hot tubs and saunas.

Explora was an incredible experience of not only exploring the magical and beautiful Sacred Valley, Peru but to experience it with knowledgeable and fun guides, return at the end of the day to be pampered with award winning meals, smiles from positive staff members, peaceful and serene hotel surroundings, and time for choosing our next day's adventure! I miss the Andes, the Explora concept, all nourishing the soul!

Un hotel espectacular. Las vistas, la atención, las habitaciones y la comida . Muy recomendable porque además de muy bien ubicado tiene SPA y muchas actividades dentro del hotel. El valle sagrado donde está vale mucho la pena para estar por lo menos dos noches

O Hotel fica em uma regiao muito bonita, estrutura adequada para a natureza ao redor, as exploracoes sao magnificas e os guias fazem da experiencia algo enriquecedor. Quartos confortaveis e o atendimento em geral e muito atencioso. O ponto negativo fica no restaurante. Apesar da ideia ser valorizar os pratos peruanos, por ser um local que recebe hospedes do mundo inteiro, tem que ser lembrado que nem todos vao apreciar essa culinaria. Nao como comida crua e as opcoes restantes eram limitadas. Existe um menu de lanches para quem nao quer a refeicao mas ele e igual todos os dias. e no menu do chef raramente ha um prato que nao tenha algo cru. Tambem o cardapio de sobremesas e bem restrito. Outro problema e o atendimento no restaurante quando este esta cheio, o que e comum, os garcons nao conseguem atender os pedidos. Cheguei a esperar por uma refeicao 40 min, mesmo avisando que teria que faze um passeio e tinha tempo restrito. Perderam o pedido e quando trouxeram a refeicao esta fria e incomivel.

La arquitetura del hotel es extraordinaria. Está muy bien ubicado con acceso fácil a los principales sitios arqueológicos .El equipo es muy cordial y los guías son muy dedicados y competentes. El restaurante es espectacular. Una experiencia verdaderamente inolvidable.

Outstanding trip! The resort is beautiful, the staff are phenomenal, the guides knowledgeable and professional, and the food delicious! Lots of activities from which to choose and great menu choices. Rooms are beautifully decorated. The grounds of the resort and surrounding views of the Andes are spectacular! Highly recommend staying here.
