We are group of 15 certified divers had an unforgettable experience at the Ariella Hotel in Sri Lanka. The accommodations were top-notch, and the diving sites were breathtaking. The hotel is really small, a bit disappointing. I booked a two-night, two-bedroom apartment. I want to try to discuss with the manager whether I can only stay for one night. After a fruit, a uncle who wears a tattered vest, shorts, and unbridled is a manager, then speaks. It is also very rude, the attitude is too good, and the words are rude and can not directly say no. There are only 9 rooms, in the mountains, black and dark at night, our 4 women, do not dare to go out at night. There are two beaches near the hotel. It takes more than 15 minutes to walk, and we meet weekends. Many locals gather for dinner, drink, and we go to the beaches in the afternoon. All the way to the big local men, a little scared, go On the beach, I saw two European and American girls in swimsuits, and a group of men who drank alcohol, they left, and the hotel was in a good environment, the room was very comfortable, and the surrounding environment was really bad. Looking at the sea view on the mountain, but the geographical environment is really bad, travel dudu, only suitable for staying in the hotel all day~ Breakfast is an order, it is quite rich, the staff are male, except for the so-called manager, the attitude is very good. Will not stay again
Villa Thawthisa the Boutique Hotel Unawatuna

The view is great and breathtaking during sunset. They keep the hotel premises and garden clean. But when entering to the hotel, we feel like its an isolated/neglected place. Path is broken and both sides covered with ugly trees and bushes. No one to look at until we park and go to the reception. People park the vehicles wherever they want blocking other vehicles (we had to wait nearly half an hour to move our vehicle because someone was blocking it).We got a deluxe room with pool access. The bathroom design is so stupid and uncomfortable design. Rooms are not nice as the photos they have posted in web. Room amenities are ok but furniture and design of the room looks cheap. There is a very small staff. They looked like some random people found for day pay. Restaurant has no proper AC. We were sweating while having meals. There was only one guy to serve us who is not even wearing a mask. Special thank should go to the Chef. He had arranged very tasty food for the limited budget(we heard how they discuss the meal budget and all. They were too noisy and disturbing). Meal quantity is really small. Took longer time to serve. However next day breakfast was a buffet which was better. Rooftop is flooded when raining. Such a beautiful view is wasted. Elevator is out of service and we have to climb 4 floor to the restaurant. (this was reported in other reviews posted long ago). Such a beautiful location is wasted due to mismanagement.
Sergeant House Boutique Villa & Private Beach

There’s so much to swoon over at this curious boutique villa that’s perfectly situated from right across the beach at Unawatuna. The staggering façade comes courtesy of its historic colonial architecture that traces all the way back to the 1800s; and its interiors characterized by a disarming confluence of rattan accents, antique decor, and traditional furniture that sets the tone of a perfect coastal vibe. Lest you think it’s all face and no substance, you’ll be chuffed to learn that the folks at Sergeants’ House also offers exemplary service by any standards, and were very warm, accommodating and easy going. There was also something comfortingly communal about the fact that the room doors don’t lock (the family staying right across me literally left the doors wide open the entire day); and there was not a second throughout my stay that I got worried or paranoid that my things would get stolen, by staff or the other occupants. And that says ALOT because I am generally a very distrusting person – especially when I am travelling. Something about the place works on a very unspoken level of intrinsic trust, and you get cloaked with the same kind understanding the instant you walk through its tall heavy gates, like magic.

It was very nice experience at the hotel. Staff is very friendly and are ready to help every moment. Food is varied and tasty. Very nice evening buffet, where chef is cooking fresh meat and fish for you. Nice views and terrace with view on the ocean. In general it was great to stay hier.
Thaproban Pavilion Resort and Spa

A super hotel with good facilities and a good location. The buffet breakfast is comparable to the standard of lunch and dinner. The hotel’s open-air saltwater swimming pool is clean and buoyant. It faces the sea and makes waves. It’s amazing. The family suite we stayed in, open the skylight, the sun shines in, it is too comfortable.
