We had a great time! Plenty of activities to do in plenty of things to see oh just a wonderful location. My only complaint is I was in Kassav four and the ice machine was never repaired the week I was there. I have to make that statement because it’s such an inconvenience to go to the other castles or qualifies so it’s all a complaint,

I usually don’t leave reviews, but after this wild experience, I had no choice. I was absolutely disgusted by the treatment I received at this hotel. I booked the hotel for a women’s retreat and interacted with 3 different people over the course of my time at the hotel. The first person checked us in and I informed him that Oke of the participants had COVID and wouldn’t be attending and the other person would be staying with me to nanny for my child. He said okay he would let the manager know and they would remove it from the bill. He took a deposit for the 5 rooms ($50 per day). He told us breakfast was served at the sister hotel, Zenses and we should eat there after yoga in the morning. He also informed us that while the website says bikes are complimentary, they don’t offer bikes and the beach is actually an hour away, not 30 minutes! What the hell? The next day, another woman asked for the remaining balance on the room. I asked if that was customary because I am used to paying that upon departure and she said yes, so I paid the balance. The day before our departure, I interacted with a 3rd woman who was very rude, impatient and said she was charged two rooms that weren’t even in my party for breakfast. I told her breakfast was included. I asked for her name. She refused to give it to me so I sent a screenshot of her to the manager and he failed to respond. She called the manger and both of them very rudely said breakfast was not included and told me they would be charging me for the room my nanny didn’t use and for breakfast, even though it was included. I requested a print out of my payment. They couldn’t provide it for a while and finally provided a document that was inaccurate I challenged them and questioned them over and over and they failed to address the issue or provide any type of resolve. I also advocated for bikes and when we took them out, the pedal fell off and we had to rely on the help of strangers to get us back because no one at the hotel was willing to come get us or support the issue. In addition, our rooms were not cleaned daily, despite the multiple requests. I had to come and get tissue, washcloths and empty the trash. Absolutely terrible service! I have been going back and forth with the “owner” for a while and he has ceased responding because there is 0 accountability. There’s also construction across the street constantly and wild dogs running around, it’s just not worth it. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! IT’S NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE!!

A scenic and lush hotel in the southeast corner of Tulum Pueblo. The grounds are lovely and the rooms very modern. The staff is very attentive. Very quiet, but also convenient to the Chedraui supermarket and near some nice restaurants and bars. We enjoyed our stay but encountered two peculiarities you should be aware of. The very modern room design features a toilet that is not in its own bathroom with a door, just tucked behind a pillar between the kitchenette area and the shower. Depending on how comfortable you are with your traveling partner / roommate, this could be awkward. There was also a room inspection at checkout to make sure all room items are accounted for before you can leave. Perhaps past experiences with guests made this necessary, but it was unusual and a little off-putting.

In love with this hotel, the rooms were beautiful! Perfect location on the main street of Tulum with everything nearby. The bus stop to Playa del Carmen is right next door too. The beach is 20 minutes away by bike, like the entire area. Highly recommended to visit all points of interest. The guy who helped us at reception was charming! He helped us organize the last day with a lot of ideas and thanks to him we made the most of our last day. Homemade and delicious breakfast. A 10 in everything. I would repeat without hesitation.

Location: We stayed at una vida for my mums birthday in February. I was a bit apprehensive initially as I knew the hotel wasn’t close to the hotel zone and main touristy areas and was having second thoughts about the location. Once arriving however, I realised I 100% made the right decision. While not close to the hotel zone, the location is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing and quiet holiday ( and not looking to go to the beach every single day!). You can easily walk into town ( 15mins) to get to the shops and restaurants and the beach is a 20 min drive. It is a bit expensive for a taxi (600 pesos/ 30gbp one way) but we were prepared to pay this since we didn’t go to the beach every day and much preferred the location of our hotel. The hotel kindly arranged taxis for us whenever I asked. Food: The food was delicious at the hotel. I did find some dishes slightly salty but this wasn’t a major issue. While breakfast was included with our stay, this only comprised of 3/4 dishes from the entire breakfast menu. This was fine at first but since we were staying for 7 days, it did get a bit boring and repetitive so we began paying for dishes from the rest of the menu. We went to the sister hotel ( less than a min walk) for drinks which were really tasty. Staff: All the staff were super friendly but a massive shout out to Fer who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. He was so friendly and always had a smile on his face. He gave us some great recommendations on places to go and some great tips/advice too. He also arranged an excursion for us and always messaged me on WhatsApp to keep me informed throughout our stay. Fer definitely made our stay here even better! Room: We stayed in a one-bedroom room ( 3 adults). The room had plenty of space for us all - it included a room with a big double bed and balcony and then a kitchen/ living area with a smaller sofa bed. There was another balcony here and a stove, fridge and table. I loved how spacious the rooms were! Pool: There were two pools we could access, one at una Vida and one at bardo the sister hotel. While the pool at bardo was bigger I found the one at una Vida was always much warmer. Towels are provided and there’s plenty of day beds to sit around and relax.

Great place with a great location. Right on the road to the beach and yet very close to the city centre. Staff are very very helpful polite and professional. Rooms are big and clean! We stayed 2 nights and decided to extend for another night. The restaurant on premises has excellent food. We've ordered ceviche everywhere we went on our 3 week trip in Mexico and this was top 3! Good value for money too. Our server Carlos at the restaurant was amazing. Very good energy and super attentive. We highly rate this place 👌🏻

The price is a bit expensive. Good location. It's convenient for eating and shopping around. The room is big. Night life is abundant. It's also very convenient to get to the station. I will choose to stay here again when I go to Cancun in the future.

We had an overall wonderful experience for our 7 days spent at Hotelito Azul! We went with another couple and each stayed in the Oceanfront Suites (we were above them, they were ground level). The rooms were clean and spacious. Somewhat limited storage for clothes but we made the best of the shelving/hanging unit provided. The shower is a dream. The maid service cleaned our room daily and did a wonderful job! We loved the treats left on our pillows each day. AC was yours to control. One challenge we faced that would have a simple fix was the lack of rugs in the room. You’re walking through sand to get to your room and yes, there’s a bucket of water to rinse before entering however we were desperate for a small outdoor rug or just something at either the sides or foot of the bed to brush off sand before getting in bed. Interestingly, our friends downstairs had an awesome runner at the foot of their bed so maybe just consistency with that would make a huge difference! You wake to a cute basket with coffee each morning and they will refill your drinking water as much as you need it in the room. We can’t say enough good things about the staff. You communicate to them through What’sApp which offered quick responses to any questions or concerns or when ordering food/drink. Larissa, the concierge was WONDERFUL. She welcomed us every day and made us feel right at home and taken care of during our stay. She helped fill out trip with wonderful experiences whether it be tours, great local spots for food/drink or logistics. We rented scooters from the hotel the majority of our vacation days and it was well worth it. We did find the prices just across the street were cheaper however we liked the convenience of renting through the hotel. The food and drink at the hotel is all delicious, although we quickly learned that eating and drinking on the beach does get expensive, so we chose wisely when/how much we ate at the hotel. This just comes with the location. The physical location of the hotel is ideal because it isn’t too far down into the beach strip, which traffic became pretty bad the further you drove in. The aesthetic and details of the hotel are perfect for making you feel like you’re living in a whimsical jungle. FYI to all looking to stay on the beach in Tulum, during April-November or so, Tulum gets a massive amount of seaweed that makes it nearly impossible to swim in the ocean. The hotels, including Hotelito Azul, do their best to remove as much seaweed from the beach as possible, but man, is it an uphill battle. This limited our ability to sit out on the beach unfortunately, because the only relief from the heat was the outdoor shower. Which, again, is lovely, but not the ocean. Luckily, Tulum has so many other wonderful things to do that we did not feel this impacted our trip in any significant way. Those that travel during the better months have a lovely beachfront area to look forward to at Hotelito Azul. All in all, we loved our stay at this hotel and look forward to returning in the future! On the day of the check-in, it was the birthday of my husband. I told the front desk but they didn’t prepare any small cake. The room is ok but without a hair dryer, and it was not available. The breakfast was good.
