The hotel is in a very quiet and peaceful place. It is quite a long walk from the port: 30-40 minutes, and you need to take into account that you will have to walk uphill (it is very difficult with suitcases).
But at the same time, the walking path to the hotel from the center / from the port can pass through the main attractions of Trieste (the Fortress, the Roman arch, the Roman theater, the church), all of them are within walking distance. In the fortress there is a good observation deck (access after 19:00 is free, that is, without buying tickets) and a bar on the observation deck (though there are practically no free seats in the bar - it is a rather popular place)

Ho dormito una notte in questo albergo che si spaccia per 4 stelle. Una esperienza da incubo. La camera 106 che mi è stata assegnata era polverosa e di aspetto decisamente datato e poco curato. Il problema grande però si è presentato quando ci siamo messi a dormire. Il condizionatore, decisamente antiquato, è rumoroso e piazzato proprio di lato al letto. In qualsiasi posizione lo metti, viene aria gelata addosso. Una volta spento il condizionatore e aperto le finestre, inizia l'incubo delle zanzare e del motore del condizionatore della camera a fianco o della hall . Insomma, una notte molto calda e insonne. La cosa peggiore però è stata l'arroganza e la maleducazione del direttore. Il quale alle mie lamentele ha risposto stizzito invitandomi ad abbassare i toni . Penso che le stelle di questa struttura siano decisamente da rivedere.

We stayed at Le Corderie for two nights. It's a bit outside the center, about a 20-minute walk. But that's not a problem. The hotel doesn't have its own parking, so you have to drive around a bit, but we were usually able to find free parking nearby. At first, we had a very noisy room because the air conditioning was installed right in front of the window. But we were able to change rooms without any problems. The staff is very polite and accommodating. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the room didn't work properly, so it was a bit warm overnight. We didn't book breakfast, as you can get a delicious breakfast anywhere in Trieste. But what we saw at the hotel looked very good, even for the price of only 10 euros. All in all, we highly recommend the hotel for a short trip to Trieste. A few minor flaws, but very acceptable by "Italian" standards. And at a fair price. We would come again.
