It has central heating/cooling.The living area spans the front of this cozy bungalow and has a sitting/reading area at one end and the entertainment area at the other end.Pine floors throughout for a rustic feel.The bedroom is at the back of the cabin where you can hear the stream trickling when the windows are open. Both blackout curtains and blinds are on the windows for a completely restful/undisturbed sleep. The bed is a queen-sized bed. Please note that ALL the bed linens are changed after each guest...no reusing comforters here!Bathroom with 5' shower, small sink, commode is adjacent to the bedroom.The kitchen has all the essential dishes/utensils and a full-size refrigerator and oven/range. The coffee maker is a drip-style/programmable. One sample coffee starter will be in the cabin--please bring your favorite creamer, sugar, and additional coffee supplies.The dining area is at the back of the cabin off of the kitchen (one step down) and has an exterior door to the side patio. We called this cabin home for 12 years and now, after upgrading the kitchen and bath, our guests have been enjoying its charms, too.We are located at 11612 East Fork Road, Brevard, NC, 28712, on a 19-acre peninsula of land between the East Fork and the French Broad Rivers. Their confluence is Mile Marker Zero for the French Broad, said to be the third oldest river in the world....not surprising since The Appalachians are the oldest mountains in the world! Both rivers offer excellent trout fishing and the French Broad Invites canoers, kayakers and tubers.Transylvania County, NC, is known as The Land of Waterfalls with over 200 named falls, dozens of which are relatively easy to hike to. Pisgah National Forest features the Ranger and Visitor's Center, the Trout Hatchery, Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock and The Cradle of Forestry. All this is on the road that leads up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of its amazing views and attractions like the Devil's Courthouse, the Pisgah Inn Restaurant and Graveyard Fields. Nearby Dupont State Forest is headlined by Triple Falls and nearby Hooker Falls.Brevard is a delightful mountain town that boasts lots of art galleries, good restaurants and a world class toy store, O.P. Our forests are amazing for any hiker or mountain biker, but for the road cyclists, the home is located right off of Highway 276, easy access to Caesar’s Head or down the mountain to the town of Brevard.Live music, food, shaved ice and ice cream are all within walking distance from spring to fall.
