El Deseo Serendipity was located in one of the most magical places I have ever visited! Not to mention the quality of service the hotel staff exceeded excellence. It was centered right on the beach, and is in the perfect area to be immersed in the nature and wildlife of Costa Rica. My friends and I saw monkeys, turtles, macaws, sloths, and so many exotic animals I had never seen in and around the hotel. They even have a butterfly enclosure IN the hotel, as well as a living tree growing out of the ceiling which is a great macaw watching spot. They provided a full breakfast service, and snacks throughout the day which were delicious and we could not stop ordering the Avocado toasties! I think my favorite part about the whole trip was the amount of executions the hotel had to offer. They book and plan everything so you don’t have to worry about making any reservations, making the trip even more stress-free! The excursions range from casual to adventurous, so there is plenty to choose from for everyone! Absolutely such an amazing experience and it would not have been possible without this lovely stay, informative staff, and unforgettable ambiance. Will definitely be back soon!

Excellent hotel with lovely staff
Brilliant hotel in a great beach-front location. The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was very good.
The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful, particularly Leo who was regularly ensuring that we were happy with everything. Breakfast is made to order to suit your preferences and was very tasty.
Nice hammocks to relax in.
The staff even took our luggage to the dock for us

Worst experience I have ever made with a Hotel. Not sure if the other reviews are bought or not. We had a room with blood stains, the „booked out hotel“ was filled with 1 family, sheets weren’t washed and yellowish and we were asked to smoke crack by a homeless man in front of the Hotel. They charged 140€ for the boat pickup, after all we left after 1 day because of the condition of the room. Even though we got promised a refund we got nothing back but one night. Terrible.

Tortuguero is a beautiful place. Just the boat ride to get there was an adventure, riding through the river and seeing wildlife. Arriving we got greeted right away and taken to our rooms. They greeted us with fresh fruit drinks and showed us the must do's and see. Rooms were great, breakfast was great, people were great and being on the beach was the best part. They only serve breakfast and snacks so we went to dinner in the village which wasnt anything special.

We used the bar most days. The ocean breeze was a godsend. The staff, most memorably Mr Smith, were awesome, funny and attentive. The light bites, were tasty, perfect in the heat. The ocean view from the second floor will live with me till my end. Beautiful.

I think this is the nicest place you can stay in Tortuguero. Its right on the beach and a 5 min walk to the town. They welcomed you right when you get off the river ride and take you straight to the hotel. One of my favorite parts of staying there is sitting on the top and watching the beautiful birds, even though they were dropping fruit on me. Its a little more pricey than others but you get what you pay for.
