The Imperial Torquay

Lovely old hotel. Beautiful public rooms and views of bay. Bit of a steep climb from bat to hotel. Friendly staff. No air con but nice big fan in the room.

The hotel entrance is lovely ans the room was nice, lovely sea view. A fridge in the room would have been a bonus. The pool and sauna and bar was also good. No hots drinks avaiable from 8.30pm, which was a surprise. The breakfast was disappointing.

Another wonderful stay. Reception staff warm and friendly. Upgraded to a sea view suite, lovely views over the bay, what a view to wake up to. Huge selection of fresh breakfast food, waiting staff very friendly and attentive.  Location is fantastic a few minutes walk down the hill to the harbour. Our 2nd stay at this hotel this year, 5 stays in total.

Lovely atmosphere on entering , lovely sea view room , rooms are large but could do with a bit of updating , cols air coming through bedroom window, , had to use a towel to try and stop the breeze as it was a very cold night, service was terrible in the bar area and had to wait more than 10 minutes before going to speak to receptionist who came to serve , it was very quiet and no staff around, breakfast is good quality and plenty of choice with lovely sea view from restaurant.

My husband and I have been coming to Imperial Hotel for six years, and it remains a very special place to us. The location is absolutely stunning, private balconies overlook beautiful gardens, the sea, and two peaceful cove beaches right below the hotel. There is nothing between the hotel and the water, giving a real sense of privacy and calm. From many rooms, you can also enjoy views of the charming harbour with boats and yachts moored below. The hotel itself is full of character and history. I always enjoy taking the grand staircase to the fourth floor to appreciate the original period features and the stately feel. The staff truly make the stay special. Kate on reception is always friendly and helpful, making guests feel genuinely welcome from the moment they arrive. Igor in the restaurant provides excellent service with a warm and attentive approach, he really goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued. While the hotel is beautiful, some areas could benefit from the owner truly appreciating what they have and investing some loving refurbishment in this wonderful hotel, particularly the exterior which needs repainting, and the outdoor pool which has unfortunately been closed for maintenance during part of the summer, and expected to remain closed for potentially a few months I believe. there are also other areas that need attention in places, the gym and spa facilities, and if some of the superior suites access to their balconies that look over the sea views would be a great area for future improvement. Despite this, The Imperial Hotel offers a peaceful, charming stay with breathtaking views and a lovely atmosphere. We highly recommend it and hope the hotel continues to receive the investment it deserves to bring it back to its full glory.

I spent the weekend at the beautiful imperial for my wedding.. I can not express enough in words how kind and wonderful the staff are our wedding was perfect. The food is incredible rooms are beautiful and spacious with everything you need. Our friends and family who also stayed had nothing but positive and kind feed back myself and wife are proud to have had our special day here. Ultimately Richard chief of operations and Sarita our beautiful wedding coordinator these 2 amazing people went above and beyond for us both not just with all the decorating timings ect but emotionally the support they gave to us was honestly beautiful. Sarita and Richard will forever be in our hearts for making our special day more then just a day they made it happen to the exact image we had in our minds. Thank you
