Villa Marina

It was very clean and well maintained. The staff were brilliant.

We can highly recommend this hotel, two lovely very attentive hosts. It was our first adventure with our dog Bella and felt she was well catered for which put us at ease. As a Coeliac it was a lovely treat to be welcomed with cake and to find at breakfast the hash browns and sausages were gluten free again a real treat. Breakfast overall was outstanding really enjoyed it, we hope to return again very soon.

Vince and Erwan were wonderful hosts - extremely friendly, accommodating (they helped us with a late check out due to our circumstances), and they were lovely to talk to. We stayed in Mallock room, which was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very well appointed. There were lots of lovely little touches in the room that made our stay even more enjoyable - pillow mist, seagull silencing ear plugs (luckily didn’t need to use them, but a nice touch), selection of drinks and snacks in the room for a small additional fee, fresh milk and water in the mini fridge, and Vince’s freshly baked lemon cake was delicious! We used their recommendations on their website to choose somewhere for our evening meal - highly recommend The Waddling Duck at The Hamiltons, it was a delicious meal. Full English Breakfast cooked to perfection by Erwan was delicious and plentiful, just about had room for the very tasty French pastries! We booked our stay due to attending a funeral in the area, however we will definitely consider Villa Marina in future for a stay under better circumstances - we’d love to meet Merlin the golden retriever! After a horrendous journey down to Torquay (torrential rain and the M5 closed due to flooding with all traffic diverted through Taunton at school peak time!) we could not have wished for a warmer welcome. Vince and Erwan are brilliant hosts. The room was warm and cosy and the breakfasts (select what you want the previous evening) superb. Being just over a mile from the seafront the Torre area is quiet and relaxing. Ideal for an older couple like us, we have no hesitation in giving 5 stars.

The welcome was exceptional, room very comfortable clean and modern and had a very good nights sleep and the breakfast was delicious and service was great. Definitely return if I venture back down to Torquay. A very pleasant nights stay. 5 stars

After staying 5 days at Villa Marina, we knew that we had definitely made the right the decision in selecting the right bed & breakfast. Vince & Erwan were perfect hosts! We could not fault Villa Marina in anyway. The attention to detail was amazing in so many ways from our full English breakfasts cooked & presented to perfection with the freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Our bedroom was serviced daily to the highest standards. We very much enjoyed the home made slice waiting for us on our arrival day at Villa Marina, which was delicious! Also loved the pillow mist in our bedroom these personal touches make Villa Marina the prefect bed & breakfast. We had travelled from Australia to holiday in Devon & were not familiar with the local area at all, Erwan & Vince were fabulous in giving advice on local tourist attractions to visit. We were also very impressed that Erwan & Vince made us a takeaway breakfast on a day we had to leave early to travel to Wales for the day. These gentlemen went above and beyond! We can definitely guarantee that you wont regret staying at Villa Marina.

This is probably the best B and B we've stayed in. Vince and Erwan are amazing hosts. The rooms are very comfortable and very well appointed. Breakfast is the highlight - so much choice and well cooked. Torquay and the surrounding bay is very accessible. We will definitely be returning.
