night stay in June. Good location if you are ok with your mobility. Clean and quiet hotel. Room 22 did not have a door latch to the tiniest ensuite shower room therefore unable to keep the door closed! Also extremely squeaky so no quiet 'pee' in the night. Towels only changed if left on the floor (No instructions to do this). Two teabags or coffee sachet and UHT milk and kettle in room. Adults only and seems to appeal to an older age group from what I saw. Did not eat at this hotel so cannot comment on breakfast facilities. We didn't see any staff at all during the stay except upon check-in and out. Would we recommend this hotel, most probably if they put in a latch and oiled the bathroom door.

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy, rooms cleaned daily, it was so quiet, there wasn't any road noise. Was given a front door key to as door is locked for added security, breakfast was of a high standard and you can choose what you want to eat , as much tea, coffee and juice as you want. Close to the railway station if you travel by train or bus but not close enough to hear the trains. Short walk to the beach but would need to drive to the shops, We went to the the grand hotel for an evening meal which was affordable and very good. All in all a brilliant oldy worldy hotel and the hosts were lovely and helpful.

Welcomed by Liza. Shown to our room which was clean and very comfortable with tea making facilities and toiletries. The bedding and fluffy white towels immaculate. The hotel is bright, cheerful and in a beautiful setting in well kept gardens. Breakfast excellent cooked by Liza great choice. Close to seafront and train station. Highly recommended.

I would give zero stars if I could. This place calls itself the Elmington Hotel, but it’s actually A GUESTHOUSE. The room we got was DARK, GREY, DEPRESSING, dirty, dusty, and unkept, with no daytime curtains, so there was no privacy from the parking area - NO A PHOTO OF THAT ROOM ON HER BUSINESS HOME PAGES. The bathroom had a filthy toilet brush, a half-broken lock, and patches on the bed and carpet. Despite advertising breakfast, none was provided or even mentioned at check-in. The path from the parking lot was dark and dangerous at night. The swimming pool was empty. When I asked for a refund, it was refused on a flimsy excuse. Overall, a terrible experience. I don't recommend staying here. Think twice before booking!

Lovely quiet place, gardens are beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location to visit my sister who lives here. Clean comfy rooms with tv, tea and kettle. Very fast WiFi in the rooms. Nice hot powerful shower. I will book again. Thank you x

Lisa was a very gracious host. She looked after us very well. The hotel was convenient to walk to restaurants and good recommendations made. Very clean. Steep Stairs and no lift. Didn’t get to use the pool or grounds as only there two nights. Very very quiet so good nights sleep.

Love this hotel. We’ve just come back from our 3rd visit and the rooms just get better. Lisa, the host and owner is lovely and so bubbly. The garden is huge and stunning and they have a nice big pool too. We overlooked the sea and the fair was in town which we had a slight view of. Breakfast is a large tasty helping. Well cooked and the waitress is a sweetie. This is our first choice of hotel when we go to Torquay and will no doubt go for a 4th visit. Nicely tucked out the way up behind the railway station so not noisy or crowded. Very relaxing. A definite must if you’re thinking of taking a holiday in Torquay. Which in itself is a beautiful place to stay. There’s a very sweet little ginger and white cat that hangs around who is very friendly and that’s always a plus. Fantastic hotel.

Lovely hotel, Liza was very welcoming, we found her doing the gardening, room, bed, shower / toilet were all spotless, breakfast was very good, all freshly cooked, selection of cereals and juices. Overall top notch The car park is on a hill, check your handbrake is good.

What a lovely hotel. Liza the owner cannot do enough to ensure that your stay is perfect. The hotel is quirky, spotlessly clean and like a home from home. The breakfast is freshly cooked to order with all the normal full English items. Great location to visit the local area. We will definitely be returning.
