Very run down hotel , breakfast was dreadful and cold. Has for the pool i had a very bad reaction to the chemicals . Wrote to hotel but was fobbed of with excuses, even though the pictures was proof of my reaction also confirmed by my doctor. Had a miserable couple of days back home with itching and soreness Shall not be returning

Overall, my stay at this hotel was a mix of highs and lows. The most notable positive was the staff. They were truly excellent—friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Their service was top-notch and a real highlight of the visit. The hotel itself was very clean, which I appreciated. However, the condition of the rooms was a significant drawback. They are in desperate need of updating, and while the rest of the room was clean, the carpets and wall paper were noticeably grubby, in the hallway landing which detracted from the overall cleanliness. Another issue was the lack of available power outlets. With only two plugs in the room, it was very disappointing to dry hair. Use tongs and charge appliances. In summary, while the exceptional staff and general cleanliness were great, the outdated rooms, particularly the carpets and lack of electrical outlets, made for a less-than-perfect experience. With a few updates, this hotel could be truly outstanding.

Me and the wife have been to a lot of hotels all over the world but this hotel has got to be one of the best .The staff where so helpful all the time Jenny was the best thing at the Devonshire all had a had a smile on her face always had time for everbody no matter how big or small she was alway spot on . Cannot show how good all the staff where .We will be back at some time I would tell any body if you want a great place to stay ,stay at the Devonshire hotel

We had an enjoyable stay at the Devonshire hotel the location was great with it's own car park.The room we had was in the annexe and was very clean and comfortable and plenty of space.Enjoyed the breakfasts and the evening entertainment was faultless, such really good artists who put on great shows ,id say it was some of the best entertainment we have had in hotels for a long time.Also all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful,we were only there for 2 nights but we all said we would definitely return again some time for longer as there's so many places around Torquay to visit and the hotel was so lovely,Thanks to all for a great stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Devonshire Hotel. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating. This isn’t a modern hotel, but has lots of charm and character. We had a family room, which was very spacious and clean. The hotel is well situated, 10 minute walk to Torquay harbour where you can find plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel offers a nice range of amenities, including an outdoor pool and games room which was a hit with our boys. Overall it is good value for money.

Had a 4 night stay with Daishs and could not fault this place. Spacious single room,, willing staff, excellent breakfasts and superb heated pool. Local buses very frequent and easy 15 minutes walk downhill to Harbour. All of Daishs hotels understand the needs of elderly guests and act accordingly. My 5 th Daish visit this year and will continue to use them as standards are always high . Hats Off to all of Daishs staff!;

I have been on several Daish's holidays and this one rates as one of the best. I had a nice quiet room in the annex. which suited me perfectly. The food was well above average, with a good choice and ample quantity. The staff were the best, friendly, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. There was a regular bus service into town, so the location of the hotel, which was on a high spot with some steep hills, was not a problem. Did not visit the bar/entertainment, so cannot comment, but according to other guests, both were very good. All in all I had a great stay. Thank you.
