I did not expect a $50 additional fee for cleaning services. I would not have stayed here. They cleaned the room sure, but a surprise $50 upon checkout was not worth it. That should have been in the initial price. I expected better signage within the hotel: there are multiple lobbies and multiple pathways between multiple areas of the hotel; so meeting anyone is Very confusing. I expected a functioning restaurant for such a nice hotel. It was closed Monday-Wednesday, my first three nights there. Their menu also shouldn't demand those prices, so I guess the Inn Denied me another disappointment in that regard. I also expected some method of morning food/breakfast other than room service with a tiny menu. I expected the elevators to work as well. The left one closest to the Smith Bar would often not open at all or spit you out on the wrong floor. Setting up wi-fi to the TV for better viewing options didn't work. I only had one hour so it wasn't the hassle to send somebody up. So much for that hr of relaxation. I expected more than one person at the front desk during peak times of check-in/out. The spa was closed every time I passed by. I feel like a simply paid steep hotel prices for a nice bath in the room and nice wallpaper in the function/conference rooms. The robes were stiff; the toiletries were low quality. I feel like patrons must not know any better, and the success of the Old Mill Inn must be due to return patrons who find comfort in a familiar hotel. I don't think I would recommend this venue/hotel again for anybody, for any purpose.

This is a really cute hotel in a more residential neighborhood. The building itself is very well designed and decorated. It holds historic value and can be rented for parties and weddings. There is no restaurant on site except for the bar and room service. If you walk about 20 minutes you will be able to find food. We had the room service breakfast which was honestly mediocre and not worth the price, but at the same time it was nice to eat breakfast in bed. They upgraded our room which was also a pleasant surprise and were able to give us a late check out and hod our bags until 5 pm.

I was initially apprehensive about staying in an "old" hotel, but my worries came to rest. It was similar to a cottage theme with very clean rooms and adequate amentities. Staff were always very friendly, greeting us everytime we leave and return to the hotel, and responds promptly to our housekeeping requests. 10 minutes from the hotel, there is a park with a calming stream, a great place to rest and rewind from the busy city life. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and a 30-45 minutes car ride to downtown. Some downsides though, there are no nearby restaurants besides the one in the hotel, and no nearby supermarkets. Utensils were not provided in the room so be prepared to bring your own set. Hotel lifts seem a bit worn out but had not broken down during my stay. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay given the calm surrounding vibes and amazing service. I would consider returning in the future

My husband & I stayed for 2 nights, June 21 - 23. We reserved a one-bedroom suite and really loved the spacious rooms and view of the inner courtyard. It was a bit confusing with the indoor parking across the road but we finally figured it out. We checked in and put our bags in the suite before parking. The indoor parking is included in the room rate. There is also outdoor paid parking across the road. The grounds are lovely although the bridge is showing wear and tear. Our dinner Saturday evening in the Terrace Dining Room was delicious. Sunday after a busy day, we ordered room service - their yummy 'Smash Burgers'. Monday breakfast in the Canto Caffe & Bar was also very good. Overall a wonderful stay and we plan to come back and use the Spa services.

I was there this past weekend for my cousin's wedding, showed up at the front desk to ask where the garden area was but was greeted extremely rudely by the old lady at the front desk. "the secret garden is around the corner, hence the name the secret garden", uhh okay, how would anyone know that? very rude, and unfriendly, also led us a long way rather than telling us to go up the stairs. The staff serving the food at the wedding was also very rude. A few angry Eastern European ladies who hate everyone and everything made a big deal about one of the guests who happened to move to sit with his family. She was talking to him like he committed genocide, would not recommend this place for any reason. I spoke with a couple who were viewing the venue for their wedding on the way out, gave them the warning.

I am very disappointed with your "High Tea" quality of food I got served. High Tea comes with 10 pieces per person. 3 pieces are sandwiches. -The egg salad sandwiche made the food looked cheap. and it was so dry that I believed it have been hanging around in the kitchen for half of a day or more. -The smoke meat sandwich, it's bread was so dry that, I am unable to bite on and it was hard to swallow. 2 scones tasted days old. A regular, normal bakery can offer better quality than yours. Both scones are dry and hard as a stone. Why two scones? We are looking for fancy top quality fresh cakes, not tummy filling flour. 3 whip cream filled pastries / cake. All of them were filled with heavy whipping cream. It made me feel sick of it. Only the salmon sandwiche and the fruits cup are in the standard quality. I won't recommend any friends and family to visit your dinning room again, of cause, I will never return. My expectation is not meet. Mona

A lovely setting in an iconic building. The room was nice and spacious. The parking was inconvenient. It was across the street in an apartment underground. The historic Old Mill restaurant is next door but no longer affiliated with the hotel. The hotel restaurant menu has limited choice. The portions are small but tasty.
