Ideally located when travelling from Bilbao to Portugal. Very clean, large room with comfortable beds. Staff were efficient at the front desk. Did not use the restaurant. Instead, went across the road to Meson del Douro for dinner. Service was quick. If you don’t speak Spanish translate menu online so you know what to order.

The parador is well located and the facilities are clean and spacious, so they should enable rooms for smokers. What is not recommended at all is the restaurant food. Both the quality of the product and its preparation are not up to the standards of a four-star restaurant and two forks.

This is a purpose built hotel on edge of town, close by the motorway. There is an outdoor car park. Some building work was in progress but, other than closing the outdoor pool and surrounding area, this had no impact on our stay. There is also a small(ish) indoor pool and gym. There were English speaking staff on reception, at bar and in the restaurant. The bar was nice with good, very helpful, barman. We had a spacious well-equipped room which had everything you could reasonably want. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in restaurant with great attentive, but not intrusive, service. The whole experience was what we have grown use to over the years in Paradors and we were consequently really happy with our stay.

Excelente comodidad de las camas y tranquilidad de habitación. El único problema es que no éramos conscientes de que el parador estaba en obras. Por otro lado la parte del jardín es muy básica, no apetece pasear ni estar sentados tranquilamente en esta instalación al aire libre.

La experiencia muy buena excepto el aparcamiento que está bajo los pinos que por un lado dan sombra pero por otro es muy fácil que regreses con un bollo en el coche a causa de las piñas que caen sobre la chapa, algunas a una altura muy considerable. Y por favor encuentren ya el avispero de la piscina, son insoportables. Por lo demás ninguna pega.
