APA Hotel Ginza Kyobashi Tokyo Eki Yaesu Minamiguchi

Room was shockingly small, barely space to move, and the price was absolutely eye popping for what was essentially a cramped box. The lobby smelled like faeces. Not exaggerating. The elevator had a strong cat litter odour which did not inspire confidence about cleanliness or ventilation. While the room itself was clean, the bathtub was oddly high and genuinely difficult to get into, especially if you are injured or have any mobility issues. Not safe and definitely not accessible. Breakfast was fine if you eat meat. If you are vegan, it is salad and green tea and that is pretty much it. No proper options, no awareness, no labelling. You are on your own. I would not recommend this hotel. It is all cost and no comfort. Stay here only if you are on a strict budget and absolutely need to be in Ginza.

Hugely disappointing. Staff were less than helpful, indeed verging on the surly. Our room was small, cramped, stuffy and very tired almost scruffy. Bathroom was tiny. You couldn't only access the bed from one side. Had to open the window as the temperature was centrally controlled and this made for a noisy night. Pretty awful value for oney. We paid over £120 for one night. Cancelled our room for later in the month based on our experience.

We chose this hotel because of price and location. We chose wrong. It was a surprise to be so unhappy with our choice. Having stayed in many smaller hotels all over the country during the last 20 years, we were disappointed in this one. The meager breakfast was a fraction of the usual quality/quantity and insufficient to provide a good start to the day. The single elevator was incredibly slow and there were signs stating to avoid its use during peak periods. Front desk staff were unhelpful, definitely not the norm for Japanese accommodations. The rooms were small, which is usually ok, but in this case there wasn't room for our luggage. Positives: nearby restaurants and convenience stores. Mont-Bell store just down the road. Short distance to Tokyo Station and to Yamato Transport office. Front desk will call you a taxi. Quiet neighborhood with places to walk. Comfortable beds. Negatives: most taxi drivers couldn't find the hotel without a paper map or us giving them turn-by-turn directions, poor food, poor customer service. Slightly undersized rooms.
