Travelodge Bristol Severn View M48

Great stay, convenient location. Just what I need after a long day working. Thank you

Needed a few days away from home and this hotel was perfectly located off the beaten path, whilst still being a short drive away from civilisation! Team were super engaging and the manager was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovation for the next couple of weeks so I’m excited to come back and the end of summer and see what is looks like. Great value for money and the team were very welcoming

On arrival (though it was getting on for 3.00 a.m., the first night of a five-night booking), Vida was very helpful and efficient on reception. After quickly dealing with check-in, she kindly facilitated getting to my room, both by minding bags, in the lobby, so that things needed in from the car overnight could be brought in, and then by carrying some upstairs so that it could be managed in one go. Severn View's a lovely place to stay : some will prefer the greenery, at the back (and sun-rises), others the lights of both bridges across the car-park (with sun-sets), and, for those with the stamina, walking over the Severn Bridge (and back on the other side) will be a must amongst other local walks. (It's named from what one can see just from the next-door hillside (or, on the flat, from the nearby view-point, by walking a little further on foot-paths around the original building for the Services - there's a short circular route). (All dating to when the M4 (not the M48) crossed Severn Bridge, as the only Motorway across R. Severn.)

The hotel smelt strongly of mould and our bathroom was filthy. The walls of the shower were dirty and there was a sticky brown mess beside the toilet that had a previous guest’s hair and hair pins stuck in it. One of the two towels provided wasn’t clean. The light in our room didn’t work. The receptionist was combative when we raised our concerns. We were told ‘well people make mistakes, things can get missed’ (regarding the cleanliness of the bathroom) and ‘I don’t know why you’re getting aggy with me’. Having paid just over £125 for 1 nights stay we feel we were overcharged for a substandard room.

BEST TRAVELODGE EVER! Staff were really friendly and super helpful. Room was a little run down but was reassured they’re due an update in the rooms next month, will definitely be back! Vida was especially helpful. For anyone visiting, please just remember to enter your car reg at reception!

Stayed here as a pit stop on the way to celebrate a family members wedding. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable and staff are polite and welcoming. Very happy with the hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone needing somewhere to stay.
