Good location. Friendly welcome staff. Room was clean. Was little cold but extra blanket helped. I didn’t use the facilities. Only issue i found uncomfortable was getting to room via the stairs in bar area. A big round table when occupied i found little uncomfortable having to pass through to get to. I left early, no one on reception to give key back too. Waited a little, then went and looked. Found a member of staff in dining area behind, who advised was not her job. So left the key on reception side. Nice hotel tho. Thank you

We have been here many times and have had a great time. Everything is good except for restaurant chairs that are covered in a type of suede leather.and are badly stained need to be recovered. asthis is not a very good sight in a restaurant..apart from that the place is spotless .

We were very happy with our stay at Kings cliff hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful during our check-in and when we used the bar in the evening and the restaurant for breakfast. It's fantastically situated on the sea front and was about half an hour walk along the coast from Clacton centre. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy and generally in good condition. Overall a positive experience and a recommendation from me.

The hotel is very comfortable and lovely decor in the public areas. Room was clean and fairly spacious. Unfortunately, the sink became blocked. It was attended to as soon as reported. No shampoo, again sorted very quickly. The down side. The restaurant. Sorry to say it was not quite faulty towers, but very near. Service was terrible. One member of the waiting staff attitude was boarding on being rude. Waited ages to place food order, and again 40 minutes before it arrived. No wine glasses, apparently they were "all next door". Asked for some bread. 10minutes later asked for it again "it's coming". Asked again, yes that's right it is still coming. The requested extra napkin never arrived. However the meal was fine. One young man, 17, was doing his best to look after us. Another newbie, left to cater for the whole of the restaurant, it was his first night. These 2 guys did their best. It seems the senior waiting staff followed the wine glasses to "next-door". Breakfast. Bit hit and miss. Waited for 50 minutes from ordering to receiving an inedible scrambled egg. I could on re: the service, but I'll leave it there. The evening meal food was fine. I would suggest staying at the Kingscliffe, but eat elsewhere.

We stay at the Kingscliff every year so that says a lot. It's not perfect and some improvements could easily by made and some have have. We always book a seaview room which is spacious with a huge bed and enough hanging space for our trip. Tea and coffee facilities. Wires hang below the tv - not a problem but better not seen. Friendly staff (particularly Mia and Leah on reception), and young woman of colour (sorry, must ask your name next time) in breakfast area who is very friendly and efficient). Comfortable and relaxing bar area. It's a popular spot for people to meet others for a coffee or drink, either inside or the outside seating area with sea view. Very convenient situation, just across the road from a sandy beach. Easy to get to Frinton, Walton on the Naze and Clacton. We have not had dinner here. Breakfast - now as someone called it - Faulty Towers esque! Last year hubbie asked for a boiled egg and was brought 3 hard boiledeggs rolling on a plate. This year we asked if they had egg cups. "Yes" - hard boiled egg served in a ramekin dish! They don't seem to know/or have egg cups. No dipping soldiers here! Will take an egg cup next year. Hardly ever cornflakes (yes, I have asked) so I started taking my own but this year they were available every day. Ask for one sausage, bacon and egg and you may be brought 2 or 3 of them. Server said it does not matter. I said it's a waste of good food/money if I don't want to eat them. I mentioned this to a new manager who said he would look into it. One improvement this year is having tea and coffee urns and milk available so no constant having to ask staff for pots of tea/water etc. As others have said - no-one seems to check on item availablity and so there is a constant: have you a plate, glass, more juice, saucers? Saw people using cups without saucers as a result. I take my mug down from our room. One female server looks like she does not want to be there. None of these are major for us but simple improvements could easily be made. Car park has been completely resurfaced since our last visit and not only looks so much better but also safer. Overall we love staying at the Kingscliff but could do better

Locals have noted change in cleanliness especially ladies toilets. Floors and tables sticky and staff seem fed up. Needs a good clean. What's happened??
