Good location. Friendly welcome staff. Room was clean. Was little cold but extra blanket helped. I didn’t use the facilities. Only issue i found uncomfortable was getting to room via the stairs in bar area. A big round table when occupied i found little uncomfortable having to pass through to get to. I left early, no one on reception to give key back too. Waited a little, then went and looked. Found a member of staff in dining area behind, who advised was not her job. So left the key on reception side. Nice hotel tho. Thank you

We have been here many times and have had a great time. Everything is good except for restaurant chairs that are covered in a type of suede leather.and are badly stained need to be recovered. asthis is not a very good sight in a restaurant..apart from that the place is spotless .

We were very happy with our stay at Kings cliff hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful during our check-in and when we used the bar in the evening and the restaurant for breakfast. It's fantastically situated on the sea front and was about half an hour walk along the coast from Clacton centre. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy and generally in good condition. Overall a positive experience and a recommendation from me.

Delightful sea front hotel find. Spacious room with large bathroom and walk in shower. Real ale on sale at the bar. Large carpark at the rear with 2 electric vehicle charge points. Good food in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet regularly refreshed with hot food to order. Will definitely be returning here again

When we visited this hotel, it was hot weather. We were given room 26, which backs on to the carpark. On the outside of our window was the very noisy kitchen fan, which runs from 6am to 9.30/10pm. This room has the only air conditioning unit, but it hasn't worked for quite a while, according to room staff. The room was incredibly hot, so our only option was to open the window and put up with the noise! The reception team tried to sort the issue, but it obviously needs a coolant engineer, and as it has been quite a while, you would hope it would have been sorted by now! We did get given a fan, but it was of little use in the room size. We only had 3 hangers for 2 people in the room, and yes, we could have asked for more, but we managed. It's just strange that leaving only 3 hangers for new arrivals is acceptable. The beverage tray was well stocked, with tea, coffee and biscuits. My only grumble was that there was only decaffeinated coffee available. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned, as we didn't know we had to hang a request on the door. This should have been explained on arrival. Having worked in hotels for 15 years, I know that normal practice is to clean the room unless, Do Not Disturb is put on the door. This sounds like a negative review, but I felt these points needed to be raised. On the whole, the hotel is lovely, comfortable and relaxing. The decor is beautiful, using blue as the main theme. There's a great little garden area and plenty of seating outside the front, facing the sea. The food menu is great and the food itself is delicious. Local people obviously use it well, as the restaurant is busy in the evenings. Definitely book a table! Breakfast offers a great selection of items, too. The beach, which is just across the road, is clean and sandy, with a few rocks and shingle. There's a great expanse of beach, giving plenty of room for families. The hotel is handy for Clacton on Sea, Frinton on Sea and Walton on the Naze.

The hotel is a really nice place to be in. The bar staff are courteous and nothing is too much trouble. We had three rooms last weekend and in reviewing them, they varied greatly. Although the same price was pad for two of them, only one room had air conditioning and was large, while the other, was small, non air conditioned and very hot. There was a fan but it did little to help. Our room (the smaller of the two) also had a mattress that really needed replacing because when we sat on it, it flattened to the base below. On a positive, it was really well appointed, spotless and clean. The third room, admittedly a single, was really small and hot, but again, clean. My main criticism was the booking in and payment methods. We paid for the rooms at check in in three different ways, as there were three rooms etc, but this proved problematic, as the following day after we had left, I was contacted to say I hadnt paid for the room. They said that they would look into it and would reply but, no-one did and so later in the day, I called back and questioned this with a manager, who confirmed that all the payments were made at time of check in and so was unsure why I received the phone call. in summary we had a great time, the hotel itself is great and would return, if the above issues, are addressed . Bar staff are great, as is the owner, who we met at breakfast. I/ we do feel that some aspects need to be simplified, as the payment system was awkward and some staff may need to be a little more understanding.
