3-Star Hotels in Te Anau

We stayed at Aden Motel just one night after returning from Milford Sound. The apartment was extremely spacious, comfortable and had well appointed amenities. The beds were comfy and my favourite part of the room was the heater that was facing the shower area, when we were in Te Anau it was around 9-10 degrees Celsius so we were freezing and because we had the heater while showering I felt so warm and at home. In the morning we were greeted by resident dog Molly and her friend Rocky who were so friendly my daughter can’t stop gushing about them. Will definitely recommend!

We arrived to find our key sellotaped to the office door. Turns out the office isn't staffed any more. This wasn't particularly a problem, but it meant that things like borrowing dvds wasn't possible (and TV was poor, so we would have liked to have borrowed one). Also, the motel book in the room said that the room would be serviced every day ( not to make beds, but to empty bins and provide additional tea and coffee supplies). Our room was not serviced during our stay. Room was ok, but very tried looking. The room slept 4 people and had cooking facilities, but we had just 1 bowl, 2 plates and cutlery for 2. None of the crockery or cutlery matched, which just gave the impression of being uncared for and tired. There was a broken chair outside the bedroom door with the previous occupants cigarette butts in. Gardens for all motel rooms are joined, so we returned back from a day out to find that the man next door was using our chairs to dry his washing on! We could see that the motel is up for sale and it felt like the owners had lost interest. Location was very good, just one road back from the lake ( and easy access to the lake via a gennel).

We travel very often and can honestly say we have never been welcomed so friendly and treated so great. Although an older building, it was very clean and welcoming. Room was very spacious with a small living area. Coffee station and toiletries was very good. We had a room with a reasonable lake view. We had to do some laundry while there. It was so easy in huge machines. We stayed there on by birthday and was treated with a lovely breakfast. Although a small selection, it was extremely tasty and freshly made. We wanted to stay for breakfasts on other mornings but could not as we had to leave early. Thank you so much for an awesome stay. Will be back again.

Why does this motel have such a poor rating? Village theme is a bit dated as was our room but the ladies at reception super helpful and the room was huge and clean. Stayed two nights both very quiet even though we had a group of young people next door. Laundry facilities were very useful. Dinner at Chinese restaurant was delicious. (I would change the restaurant name to reflect the cuisine.) Good value for the price we paid. We would definitely stay again.

The BEST accomodation and staff members we have ever encountered! We had booked the classic double cabin and when we arrived we were super happy with the cleanliness and many amenities this room had for the price. However, we were walking past reception and Mike stopped us and upgraded us to the apartment for free!!!! Being students, we hadn't experienced such luxury in a very long time. We had everything we needed and more - the bathroom floors were bloody heated?!? Despite it being the start of winter, the room was incredibly cosy and a great base for our adventures throughout the area. 10000% would recommend. Mike you and your family are awesome. We stayed here as a base when visiting Milford Sound. Our room was a twin studio and was excellent. There was loads of space and was furnished to a great standard. The shower was powerful and the whole unit was exceptionally clean. You can park right outside your unit and it's a couple of minutes walk to the lake shore or into the town centre for the restaurants and supermarkets. It was very good value and we booked direct to get a 10% discount. Highly recommend.

Because this brand hotel selected in Wanaka was very satisfied, I chose this brand in Te Anau. Very good location, on the edge of Lake Te Anau, very close to the Firefly Cave, 5 minutes to the supermarket; the room is large, clean, can sleep 6 people, pre-heated, rice cooker and hot pot, is the facility A little old, one room has electric blankets, the other is not; the toilet is a hard wound. In the middle of the two rooms, the sound of the toilet is very large, and the whole house will wake up. There are two cats in the yard, not afraid of people, will take the initiative to get close to you.

Unfortunately initial entering into the carpark at the hotel was to say at the very least, unsightly. The building to the left of the carpark entrance at reception has windows boarded up and is not a nice sight. Reception area smelt damp and musty and was not inviting. Rooms are OK - has fridge, TV (though reception not always that great), guest laundry. Bed was comfortable. Some furnishings need repair/replacement. Curtains half of the tracks. With a little more upkeep it would be a more inviting place to stay. There is no pool, no restaurant, and any outdoor facilities, eg mini golf - is derelict and unsightly.

The view isn't great, but everything is there It was nice to have an induction kitchen. It's clean, so it's good to stay A bit noisy on windy nights.

The hotel proprietress is enthusiastic and will introduce you to the surrounding situation, introduce the main attractions on the way to the fjord park, help us ask about the local traffic conditions, and take care of driving slowly and pay attention to safety. Because the hearing is not enough, she still takes the trouble to write to us. Thank you so much. The restaurant introduced was good, and the popular restaurant in the town. Although we rushed to the boat time at 10 o'clock, we could not use his breakfast order that friends highly recommended, but early in the morning, the boss and the proprietress were busy in the restaurant.
