Hotels in Green Park Lane/Calligraphy Greenway, Taichung

LIKED: 1. Budget friendly 2. Laundry room availability DISLIKED: 1. Size of the room 2. Smell of the room (smelled damp, probably from the carpeted floor) 3. No bidet in the bathroom 4. Shampoo and shower gel were in the form of small sachets, barely enough for 1 person to use 5. Electrical sockets were behind the beds, you'd need to move the beds to use them. Otherwise there's only 1 socket next to the table and another one in the bathroom next to the toilet 6. Breakfast selection was very limited and in a basement that is relatively dark. There's no hot water dispenser there so if you want to drink tea, you either have to prepare hot water in your room or from the dispenser on the first floor.

The room is simple but it could be fine for a night. However, the walls are super thin. You can hear the conversation next to you, when they shower, when they snore, you can hear everything. I always ignore these comments because I think people are exaggerating but in this case it is very real. The room has a strong musty and stuffy smell and if you try to open the window, it does not stay open. In addition, you can see directly out onto the street. Also at certain times, a strong smell of food reaches the bathroom in the room. We imagine it comes through the air duct but it can be unpleasant to be showering with the smell of food. Although we did not see the staff, they were helpful through messages.

Location is great! Theres a taxi stop/line right in front of the hotel. There’s so many things to do and explore around the hotel, the kids love it. We enjoy the breakfast buffet too! We would like to stay there again next time!

The service staff are very friendly and considerate Since I was checking in on the weekend, the entrance to the hotel for vehicles was blocked, and the driver was unfamiliar with the roads, so I could only get off the bus not far from the hotel. After the hotel staff learned about it, they came out to help me pick up my luggage and check in. The service was very good. I returned to the hotel in the evening with a large bag in hand, and the staff at the door offered to help me put it into the room, so that I could go out to eat directly without going back to the room. When I returned to the room, I found that the staff had specially arranged all the slippers for me. The service here is really good ~ 100 points But the design of the hotel has many inconvenient details: 1. Wardrobe: The room I live in has two wardrobes. Since the two wardrobes are at the corners, they will be affected when the door is opened and take up a lot of space. 2. Circulation: The circulation in the room is not suitable for ordinary people. There is no place to put luggage. There is a table and chairs at the entrance (not very practical). If business people need to iron clothes, it will be very inconvenient because the iron cord is very short and will get stuck in the toilet door. In addition, the iron will leak... The chair furnishings are also stuck in the bathroom door, which will get stuck when washing. 3. Supplies in the room: There is an extra strip of used toothpaste in the new toothbrush supplies... It feels like it is a quality problem with the supplier; the pajamas provided by the hotel have a torn collar... I feel the quality is very poor 4. The location of the hotel is really not very good, because it is in the center of the city, and there are basically traffic jams. If it is a weekend, the road is closed...many drivers don't know the road well, and if you really drive on the road, it will cause safety hazards. (Because there are many pedestrians) 5. The hotel staff is not professionally trained enough and some necessary information is not provided when checking in. If you choose again, you probably won’t spend more than NT$8,000 to stay there. There are better options at the same price~

Not too bad, a very kid friendly hotel. It’s good to stay here when u are traveling with toddler, love their playroom which my son enjoys a lot in there.

The hotel is at a location quite close to calligraphy greenway and public transport is relatively convenient too. Hotel breakfast was ok though it was a little repetitive. One point to note is that the closest junction is strictly an overhead bridge so if you're arriving by public transport and also carrying luggage, you'll have to walk a littler further down the road to cross.

The Carlton is a nice stop and has a nice breakfast buffett and also offers tea/coffee during all day. Within 15min walking distance you can reach the parks and shopping malls to get your favourite ********* delights. Room itself is clean and spacey.

3 nights in a Smart Room in January 2025 [Good points] - The room is clean with a white base - It is a cultural area with museums and Shinkei Village, so it is relatively quiet - The toilet has a washlet [Points to note] - The bathroom only has a shower - There are high-end restaurants within walking distance, but there are few reasonably priced local ********* restaurants [Overall review] The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is also recommended for those who are looking for a hotel with a high level of design, as it is located in an area close to museums and other attractions.

The interior is avian theme which was interesting. Location is beside a shopping mall, Watson and convenience store. I stayed alone and the room is spacious enough for me

Very good location and about 800m to Michelin restaurant Kuisine. And also 500m to National Science Centre Taichung. Can spend full day walking nearby the hotel. However hotel’s breakfast is so so only, but the coffee is good. Highly recommended if you want to to explore Taichung city you may opt for this hotel
