Hotels in Green Park Lane/Calligraphy Greenway, Taichung

The room's amenities felt quite old and dated. It wasn't particularly clean either, and the bathroom, in particular, was a bit dirty. The room door even opened with an old-fashioned physical key. The surrounding area wasn't very convenient, with nothing much to see or do nearby. I certainly won't be staying at this hotel again.

The location is excellent, right next to the art gallery and cultural center. However, check-in is strictly at 4 PM – not a minute earlier – and check-out is at 12 PM. I arrived at 3 PM and asked if I could check in early, but was told the room wasn't ready. This felt quite unconvincing, especially since the place seemed practically empty. Other than that, everything else was fine.

Room has smoke smell even though smoking is forbidden in this hotel. Furnitures and amenities are old and the room is small. Other than location, it’s just an average hotel in Taichung.

It belongs to the standard business hotel… the room is spacious and clean and well maintained…however, i have issues with the bathroom flush and the shower head / tap switch… which took me sometime to figure them out… There is a lobby bar on the first floor where we can wait and drink machine made coffee…..the gym and laundry room is located at B1… there should have better indications of how to open the gym door and lobby bar door… sometimes there is no one to aak about how to go in… maybe the washing machine needs to change the rubber rims cos of accumulated dark spots… but it’s free so i am not really complaining… The hotel has excellent front desk and housekeeping staff…. Special thanks to Cindy Lai who went the extra miles to find out the rates for taxi chartering… sorry that we did not take it up in the end though we thought it’s a good idea… grateful that we took the advice to go to LuKang old street instead as the places we plan to go is too far. We underestimated Taichung’s size… The hotel breakfast is fantastic, they have a different varieties for the two days we went.. the food is delicious and well selected… i wish i can eat more… the restaurant staff are also very helpful… Overall, me and my friend have great experience at The Tango Taichung….

Prime location!!!!! Free parking downstairs right in the middle of the city. Great food options nearby. Nice selection for breakfast (East and Western style). Quality bottled water. Staff was attentive and helpful. The extractor fan in the toilet was not working but the water pressure and temperature was good! Personally, we felt the bed was a little on the soft side but for some people that might just be perfect.

We have always stayed in this hotel whenever we go to Taichung. The hotel location is great for us because there are 2 24 hour convenience stores just downstairs. A lot of different restaurants on few steps away. SOGO department store across the street. Too bad the movie theaters are closed now we used to be able to catch a late night movie during our previous trips. Starbucks is in the basement of the building where the hotel is but with the great coffee from Familymart and 711 you do not need starbucks. Bus station is just downstairs. (no train yet in Taichung so this is the next best thing.) There are taxis waiting all the time downstairs as well. The buffet breakfast is great here with a very friendly head chef (head chef Hsieh) who is always present and interacts with all the diners. (too bad we missed him this trip) The rooms are big but do take note of new law in Taiwan and bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste and razors. Although the great thing about this hotel is they do sell toiletries at a cheap price (toothbrush and small toothpaste is just ntd 10) unlike other hotels in Taiwan that absolutely do not provide anything and do not sell. If it is your first time, I would recommend staying here as you will not go wrong here. Then maybe try other hotels next time so you get to experience the Splendor Hotel standard.

We stayed in a six-person room, which was spacious and had a double-sided shower. We requested a crib and were kind enough to provide pillows and a quilt. Unfortunately, the underground parking lot was full, so we had to find a street-side parking space. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely book again next time I visit.

The hotel is conveniently located, about 5-10 minutes' walk from Calligraphy Greenway, and there are many delicious foods around 👍👍 The bed is soft, I don't like it, but you can choose latex pillows, which are very comfortable. You can reserve them in advance if you need them. The shower water pressure is strong! The hot water is in place, but the exhaust fan seems to be turned off from time to time. It can be turned on again after turning on the main switch, which is a bit strange🤔

The reception staff were very friendly. The air conditioning in the room was pre-set, which was a nice touch. They also provided a wide selection of cookies and drinks, including a coffee machine. It can be connected to various viewing platforms. There's a FamilyMart nearby. The room was well-insulated, but there was construction going on next to the road when I checked in, and I could hear the digging.

The room was spacious and new. Parking was conveniently available downstairs. The only slight downside was the lack of a gym.
