The trip started out poorly because Trip.com's payment was invalid. We had to text your staff for close to an hour before we could check into our room, so were late meeting our family members for lunch. The women at the front desk were terrific and were doing everything they could - they weren't able to give us a key until the payment was straightened out. So we weren't very happy with Trio.com's service. How could something like this happen, where your payment wasn't valid? I would like a discount on my next trip due to that problem.
Once we were in, the service was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were open until 10pm and were warm and clean. We loved soaking and swimming each evening after visiting with family.
The only curve ball was that the firepit wasn't operable. A man said it was due to the weather, but it had been clear and dry so that didn't make sense. Therefore, we had to drink our Christmas Eve Prosecco (which we bought at the hotel snack bar!) in the room, since it was too cold to sit outside without a firepit. Outside of that, it was a terrific visit and we would stay again.
We do hope that Trip.com makes good on the billing issue so we will use your site again.

Booked here last minute when we were not able to stay with family as planned. All the staff were extremely helpful and empathetic - we ended up really enjoying our stay here, even though it started as an emergency back-up plan. After a 12 hour flight and 2+ hour bus ride from SFO, the hotel shuttle picked us up at Sonoma Cty airport (driver Carlos was prompt and helpful with the bags). We were greeted at the front desk by Sandra and would like to praise her for her empathy and care. We were very tired and stressed out and she made us feel calm and welcome. The manager Erin was also extra helpful during our stay, asking if there was anything she could do to help us out. Our 3rd floor room was quiet and spacious. Although the decor is a little bit dated, everything was very clean and well-maintained. We slept well and were very comfortable. The hotel restaurant offered a nice breakfast (thanks also to the attentive breakfast attendant and friendly chef who were pleasant even at 6:30am), with either a buffet or cooked-to-order options. The food was above our expectations and there was plenty to choose from. They also offer lunch, dinner and drinks which is handy as there is not too much in the immediate area. There's also a convenience shop on premises for snacks as well as a free coffee/tea station. The area is quiet (office park and movie theater next door) and we didn't hear any noise from the airport. The free parking is well-lit and directly in front of the hotel. We didn't have a car for the first couple of days, but were able to get into downtown Santa Rosa using the SMART train. The station is only about 10 mins walk away and it's very cheap and convenient to get to Santa Rosa or Petaluma among other places. We really appreciated being able to get around without a car and were happy to have SMART as an option. Other plus points at this hotel are the well-equipped business center with printers, which helped us with the reorganization of our disrupted trip. There's also an indoor pool and a small but nice gym. It's really a full service hotel with everything you need. I would definitely stay here again. Finally, I really would like to once again commend the staff - everyone we dealt with at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. We really appreciated this!! Thanks and keep up the good work!

My daughter and I were on a girls trip. We were going to Occidental for the event, but I wanted to stay somewhere that I could meet college friends easily as well. Found the Sandman and originally booked because we generally like boutique hotels! When I booked back in March of 2024, breakfast was included. Get to the hotel and find out that it no longer is. Guests have to purchase a $10 per person, per morning voucher for breakfast. I know it is extra effort, but it would have been courteous of the hotel to notify guests that booked prior to it being canceled. We also tried to enjoy the pool and hot tub but it was packed. We were able to get in and tried to relax a bit in the hot tub. Kids were in there shooting each other with water guns! I know the hotel has no control over what parents do, but some of the things happening at the pool just seemed very unsafe. The rooms were nice, but definitely not what was paid.

We booked a vineyard view room at a higher price, but when I checked in and went to my room it didn’t have one. I phoned the front desk and was told they upgraded my room, but this room had a lot of issues. One, it was not far from the pool which is under construction and there was constant beeping from heavy equipment. Other issues were that the AC didn’t work; I set it to 68 (it would not set lower) and the temperature of the room never went below 72. Furniture was dated and the top of the bench in front of the bed was peeling. The coffee maker didn’t work and one of the lights in the bathroom was out. Also, they charge a $45 resort fee and the pool wasn’t even available. The staff was nice, but $650 a night for this was way too high. I like the area, but will look for a better place next time we visit.

Visiting family and wanted to stay in Sonoma. Everything was so expensive, I found this BW in Santa Rosa. I used points to get a cheaper rate. Joel looks like it was a very nice motel back in the day. Larger than expected. Our room was in the back, and was clean and updated. It was fine for our overnight stay. Room had a smell when we walked in and had to open slider for fresh air. We discovered a little potion that overlooks pool. I was disappointed we hadn’t arrived earlier so we could sit out there. There were two lotion bottles, and one was half empty. Must of been left from previous guest. That kind of upset my husband.

New hotel a block from COSTCO. Even though it is backed up to the freeway, is very quiet. Nice lobby and a better than average hotel breakfast in a nice and bright room. Better signage on the road to get in would be helpful. Given it is a new hotel, everything was clean and in great repair. Definitely a place we would stay in again in Santa Rosa.

While a lot of spots have customer service problems but flamingo was great. The front desk assisted wuickly when we needed help and when a breakfast order didn’t work out the gentleman serving took it on himself to kill with kindness. Love seeing humanity thrive … even during this stupid pandemic. Thanks for positive vibes flamingo!

Outstanding
It was my pleasure to stay at the Hampton Inn Santa Rosa for the first time for one night March 27-28, 2024. A positive experience I hope to repeat. Compared to other Hampton Inns (and other hotels for that matter), I found two features of this property above average. First, the Fitness Center featured recently updated equipment including two ellipticals, two treadmills, stationary bicycles, and a rowing machine, and was thoughtfully stocked with towels and water. Second, the self-serve breakfast featured a variety of fresh whole fruits, cereals and breads, and hot fare including delicious scrambled eggs. My tastefully updated bathroom featured a strong hot shower and the rare ceiling exhaust fan. The only negative I noted: an overly skinny lineup of TV channels. The system mostly drove users to subscription-based streaming services. Such a shame to have such a nice large TV in the room but so few choices of channels to watch.
GGuest UserWe recently stayed at Hotel E and I recommend it most highly. It’s a beautiful space with old world charm plus all the updates of the modern age. Entry, lobby, hallways and rooms are a beautiful, serene décor in light earth tones and spotlessly clean. The lobby bar is most enjoyable especially when something fun is going on across the small lane in Courthouse Square and Park. Rooms are on the small side but ours was perfect for a couple + a dog, which they accept for a small fee. And with the park across the street, there is no problem getting a non-leash-pooping dog to do his business. Take your pick-up bags, there are plenty of trash receptacles. The location is amazing with dozens of restaurants at your doorstep and less than a mile from the hospital which was the reason we were there. However, above all this loveliness is the amazing staff. Carmen and Tiffany are two standouts who did everything possible to go above and beyond expectations, including ensuring our car would be at the front door at 5:15am! I am Guest Services Director for a boutique hotel in Eureka California and if any of the staff would like to relocate, I’d hire them in a heartbeat! Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hotel E when you visit Santa Rosa, or hell, if you live there, go for a night of dining out and the Wednesday Night Market and Music on the Square.
Don’t listen to those old reviews. This place is totally renovated and the rooms feel brand new. Nice touches like a sliding barn door for the bathroom door, A larger TV, full length mirror, USB plug-ins at the base of the lamps, large showers, etc. Everything is modern and updated. On top of that the front desk staff are very helpful And friendly. They have done an amazing job at turning this Travelodge into a Wonderful place to stay.
Room and linens/towels were immaculately clean. Love that the room had NO carpet - laminate floors in the whole room. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in room. Had no issues with anything - everything worked and was in good order. As others in previous reviews have said, sound travels into the room very easily from the hallway - but it didn't bother us as we weren't in the room much and are heavy sleepers. Our room door had seen better days and could stand to be replaced, but nothing about it affected my opinion of the room/property. Front desk staff for afternoon check-in was polite and accommodating. Morning check-out staff was friendly and personable. As with other Choice hotels, there is a free hot breakfast. Here is where the hotel could improve - the selection/choices were very slim (one pan of eggs, one pan of sausage links, a waffle machine, one carafe each of leaded and decaf coffee, a paltry selection of bread/baked items, 2 sugary cereal options, one type of milk only, and sugar/sweeter/creamer packets). This was the first Choice hotel I've stayed in that didn't at least have fruit, yogurt, hot cereal, or liquid creamer of some kind. There also wasn't anyone attending the dining area to ensure guests had what they needed and items did not run out. The location was just fine for us; easy on/off the 101 freeway. If you are a Choice Gold or above member, there are designated spaces for you. Parking was fine and plenty of space in the lot. Overall, great stay and would consider staying again if we travel to Santa Rosa in the future.
GGuest UserThis hotel truly surpassed all my expectations . Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the attentive staff , who were exceptionally friendly and professional. They have good small swimming pool where we can spend time .
AAnonymous UserShout out to Berlin at the front desk. Every time I came back or left for the day, she always acknowledged me by my name and was always super friendly and helpful. Convenient location right off the freeway, next to Kaiser and close to a lot of wineries. This is a great place if you’re traveling with family. Spacious rooms, small, kitchenette, complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking. They have laundry onsite as well.
GGuest UserThe price is best for a hotel stay with a kitchen and full size fridge. The staff has changed and they have made large efforts to be more particular about those they allow to stay on the premises. Quiet nights. Everything in the room works and upon arrival and it is clean. Clean towels and toiletries available everyday. Free wifi and it works well. The shopping is near, just over the freeway. I save on time and gas traveling to the stores. Plenty of places near to order in if you choose. The water is clean. It never smells like smoke in the rooms. Smokers have to smoke away from the building. They are pet friendly. My car is safe, there are cameras in the parking lot and the office.
GGuest UserWorst hotel ever... I booked a room through *********** and cancelled my reservation less than 15 minutes later. Motel 6 had already charged my card and never cancelled the reservation on their end so they could charge me the $200. When I talked to the manager he assured me they had done everything necessary to facilitate my refund... never happened. Not to mention I had to call the hotel 4 or 5 times and left my number for a call back from the manager which never happened. The manager also said something like I booked a room that was non refundable even though on the booking cancellation policy it said I would be charged for 1 night and refunded the rest of my money after the hotel told me they would refund my total amount. So much unnecessary hassle for something soooo simple. Just refund my money... it's been 2 weeks and I haven't gotten anything but stress trying to work all this out. I also stayed here once before and their rooms were stinky, drink machines didn't work, staff wasn't very helpful at all, bugs on the wall, and a bunch of tweaker types hanging around.
