Bellary Hotels with Pools

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Orchid in Hampi. Here is a gist of my experience. The hotel is located in Hospet, which is 10km from Hampi. But this location is surrounded by train and bus connectivity. Also all the restaurants, medical shops, banks and hospitals are located in 1km radius. So this is an ideal location for anyone traveling with Family like me. The hotel room was very clean. It spacious and we stayed for 2 days with 2 kids and never felt crammed. All the required amenities are placed in the room and if you need anything extra, the staff provides you almost instantly. Our toilet sink was a bit leaky and because of that the floor was always wet. Also the exhaust was not working in the bathroom. But these are minor. The hotel was very big, but some foyers leading to rooms were not lit well. Maybe they must use sensor lights to help light the foyers when someone crosses. The swimming pool was very well maintained. The water is clean and the pool is big and suitable for kids and adults. It has bathroom and dress changing places near it. I didn't use the gym, but I was told there is a gym. The kids game room was a nice touch. The housekeeping staff were very very polite and efficient. One person Mr Mounraj (not sure if am spelling his name right) deserves applause. Everytime I called him, he came in with a smiling face and cleaned the room and he was very kind. The kid will go places. God bless him for his kind heart. Also there is live music at the Breakfast time. The flutist is very talented and I feel that his stage must be bit high and there must be some spot light for him. We didn't notice him initially. We thought its recorded music. His notes were perfect and he always had a pleasant smile on his face. We thanked him for his music. If you like his music, please clap and encourage. Only part I didn't like about the Hotel was the food. We had breakfast there for 2 days in the buffet. The food was mostly cold. The pastry was very hard and it didn't feel fresh. Esp the donut, avoid it. If you are ordering from live counter, order 1 or 2 at a time. Because if we order 4, they wait for all 4 dosa to be ready and by the time it reaches the table, it soggy and cold. Also the coffee was not hot. The food taste was very bland and though the hotel didn't have many foreign tourists at the time of our visit, it looks like the chefs are trained only to please the foreign taste buds and they were not punchy enough. Forget spicy, even the salt was very less. But we ordered room service for dinner and at that time, the food was very delicious. I think the only problem is the breakfast buffet. Otherwise the staff were very courteous and always willing to help us and went an extra mile. If I go to Hampi again, ill stay here, but ill take a room with non breakfast option. there are many restaurants with good breakfast options around the hotel.

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

THE BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD TILL DATE. it all started with my family needing a room in the middle of night due to long weekend (not my fault). Thanks to Sameer who was able to accommodate my family at such a short notice in the Maharani suite at a great rate. This property is truly majestic! no amount of words are enough. The suite which is also their highest priced but it comes with the value for money. A living room with a king side bed, enough space to host a party and a smaller room with a queen size bed as well as a separate dressing up area, definitely made for a MAHARANI (queen). The property itself is huge and feels like a small world in the middle of Karnataka. The hotel has a vintage car museum which fascinated me, a swimming pool, gym, spa and a great in house restaurant. The food! alright so I am professionally a chef and I do not enjoy restaurant style food anymore as it is often accentuated and that is exactly the part I loved about this place. Great food that tastes like it was made at home, comforting, pleasing just right and very fairly priced. Just wow! Other than above mentioned things the most important part to me was that this place only has 12 rooms and yet we got lucky, it truly is serene and quiet. There were times when I felt that the palace was left truly to us. I recently spent 4 nights and 5 days at Hyatt Place Hampi with a group of 4 adults and 1 child. Here are my thoughts on the experience: Pros: 1. The property is expansive and offers various in-hotel activities, ensuring that both adults and children are entertained. 2. The front desk staff were very helpful, ensuring smooth check-ins and check-outs and providing valuable sightseeing tips for Hampi and nearby areas. 3. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. 4. The à la carte meals are delicious. 5. The hotel is situated in a township that has its own attractions worth exploring. Cons: 1. The hotel's location in the JSW township of Bellary is quite a distance (35-40km) from Hampi's main attractions, resulting in a 1-1.5 hour travel time each way. 2. The restaurant staff seem to lack training or experience and are often forgetful or indifferent, frequently messing up or forgetting orders, leading to customer frustration. 3. The buffet meals are average with limited options, and we even found stones in our food. 4. Given the size of the property, the staff are insufficient. 5. There is poor management of food inventory, as the restaurant staff often informed us they were out of milk and coffee during peak breakfast hours. It seems that this hotel was initially built for JSW top management and corporate clients, and it opened its doors to tourists during peak travel seasons without adequately preparing for the increased footfall. I would recommend avoiding Hampi during peak seasons, as staying close to the main attractions can be challenging, and hotels like the Hyatt, which are far from the main sites, can become tiresome.

First room we were shown smelled like moth balls, the carpet was extremely dirty. We asked for a new room. 2nd room smelled better but the shower still smelled because it had a mothball in it. This room had an air freshener stinking up the room but we were able to unplug it so the smell wasn’t so strong. We had trouble signing onto the wifi and called the front desk for help. They said they would send someone up but they never did. On our second night there, after seeing the temples all day, we came back to the same room we left in the morning, except the towels were gone so we know the cleaners were in the room but they never bothered to clean the room. On top of all this, I got bites very badly all over my back and shoulders. My partner didn’t so we don’t think they were bed bug bites, we checked under the mattress and didn’t see any of the nasty critters. Breakfast was ok and had a variety of dishes and the staff were very good. The hotel was very busy with many families there. At midnight one night, we had to call the front desk to complain about the noise the other guests were making. The positives of the place, there is an indoor pool which is nice after a hot day visiting the temples and the pool was clean. There’s no elevator but there are only 2 floors.
