Kamloops Hotels with Pools

We were evacuated from Jasper due to Wildfire and drove 7.5hrs through the night to reach the Wingate in Kamloops at 4.30am. I loosely arranged a room via phone as we had minimal service coming down the highway 5 in the middle of nowhere. I was impressed that they had underground parking which was good as we didn't really want to unload everything in our vehicle but just sleep. Bearing in mind we were evacuated and arrived at 4.30am (we were told there would be breakfast included but that I said we would not be awake by 9am) but would have loved the offer of a ”to go” breakfast, but nothing. My biggest bug is that we arrived at 4.30am, and were charged $277.44 for that room (with ***** on the bathroom floor :( ~ yuck) for 6 hours of sleep. You would have thought there would have been some kind of compassion or discount offered due to the circumstances that we arrived in? If I was the manager I would have offered the room gratis or at least heavily discounted due to the time and terrible situation that we were dealing with. I have stayed in Wyndham hotels many times but have to say this was not the greatest experience I have had. If someone from Wyndham would like to contact me please do.

We were blown away by the quality of service at the delta hotel in kamloops. The staff were friendly and efficient, everything went smoothly starting with our checkin, the front desk agent made the gesture to congratulate us on our engagement. The pool area was spotless and well maintained. We were also impressed with the food at Cordo restaurant, coming from Vancouver we have no shortage of great restaurants, and I would say that cordo is very on par with the dining experience in Vancouver. The menu selection was fantastic and cocktails were also very thoughtful. Make sure to check out stills distillery while staying at the hotel for some tapas and cool drinks. Thanks Delta Kamloops, we will be back!

Check in was very seamless, and when we got to our room, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, smelling and nice and fresh. The bed is super comfortable and the pillows. Nice and fluffy. The lounge chair to sit in was also super comfortable. The linens were crisp and clean and smelled wonderful, everything was sparkling clean. Robin was the person that did our room up and it was perfect.

It's a standard foreign hotel, nothing special about it, but nothing bad about it either, just like any other hotel.

The good things about this place are location by the river, and the rooms appear to have been updated. However: the sink is directly inside to the right, where the door swings open. The concrete sidewalks around the building and on the way to stairs are terrible...rough, uneven, a tripping hazard. The exterior walls going up the outside stairs are filthy. What looks like former all-weather carpeting on vertical portions of the stairs is torn and dirty. Most of all, we (exhausted from a bad day of driving the previous day), left a suit bag containing about $700 worth of shirts and pants hanging in the closet cabinet. The day after we checked out, we discovered the mistake and called the hotel. When we explained the problem three or four times until the clerk figured out what our problem was, the 'sweet' young woman said she would check with Housekeeping. She took my number. No phone call that day. The second day, a different un-empowered 'sweet' woman on the desk said no note had been left and that housekeeping had not turned in anything. When pressed, she admitted that perhaps no one had actually checked. So the next day I called again and this time connected with a man who seemed to have some authority. He firmly promised he's check with housekeeping. I firmly asked that he actually go to our former room and check the closet. He promised to do that and call me back in 15 minutes. He did not. The next day I called, and was told the man was on a day off. The day after that, they told me the man did not actually work in the office, and that he was off somewhere else in BC, ”checking on our other properties”. I can conclude only two things: either the housekeeping staff stole the clothing and lied when asked, or the next day's guest stole them. If I managed that hotel, I would be humiliated by how the staff treated a guest, pretending to try to help, then not actually lifting a finger, and when confronted, not owning up to and apologizing for the guest's loss

We stayed on the side of the hotel near the train track. We didn’t sleep much at night. It was too noisy. We wanted to feel like the train was going into the room. It was deafening and the child was crying. This was a very dissatisfied and unpleasant experience.

Good overall experience. Gentleman at front counter was great and friendly to deal with. Same with the waiter at the restaurant he was very personable, friendly, and respectful. Room was clean and mattress was comfortable. Also in a very central location for conferences, other restaurants, and access to the highway. Restaurant had a good breakfast menu.

Just had a great supper at a very reasonable price. Great service. It is a little out of the way put with them help if GPS we found it. They have an every day seniors menu with about 5 different entries including two sides for $17.95. We didn't take advantage of his but saw a large group of seniors that appeared to enjoy their meals.

The hotel is not far off the highway, relatively far from the central area; there is a shopping mall next to it, and there are two gas stations at the intersection, convenient parking; The hotel has breakfast, bread, cake and yogurt. The hotel has free boiled water and coffee for 24 hours. There is a Chinese restaurant in the same building of the hotel. The price is good. There is a beautiful western girl in a cheongsam:) The hotel has a 1.5-meter bed. Cost-effective

The Rocky Mountaineer Train had provided this accommodation during it's journey break halfway between Banff and Vancouver. So we ( me & my wife ) sort of stayed for the post afternoon hours and one night only.The room allotted to us was spacious with two Queen sized beds. The Room was clean and had a TV, Microwave Oven,Electric Kettle,Electric Press,Press Board & Coffee machine etc.For drinking Tap water was used . The Hotel boasts of a Swimming Pool,Theatre Room & Conference Room. The staff is courteous.We had a good sleep and were provided breakfast in the train so did not taste the Hotel's preparations.
