Una location fantastica, dove il personale e i titolari ti avvolgono e ti fanno sentire subito a casa, aggiungendo anche qualche coccola in più quando meno te lo aspetti!! Ci siamo trovati davvero benissimo, anche la cena che abbiamo fatto è stata molto apprezzata e lo consigliamo vivamente

An extremely pleasant stay in a beautifully restored country house. Made to feel so welcome by sincere and attentive staff and owners. Exceptional food and wine . We really appreciated log fire and hot water bottles. A definite must visit.

It is a delightful family-run hotel with an excellent culinary reputation and a wonderful friendly atmosphere. The country house is located in Swellendam, which is a lovely old town on the Garden Route in easy reach of the Winelands and Cape Agulhas. As well as accommodation in the beautifully-designed country house, there are delightful and spacious cottages in its grounds (in which we stayed on two occasions). The camaraderie surrounding the evening meals, when the guests eat together, is something special and we shall certainly return when next we are in South Africa. We had a wonderful stay at this charming country house hotel. The setting is peaceful and picturesque, perfect for a quiet retreat. Our room was cozy, clean, and full of character, with lovely views of the surrounding gardens. One of the highlights of our visit was the dinner at the hotel restaurant. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The locally sourced ingredients really stood out. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening, striking just the right balance of relaxed and professional. Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive, with a great selection of hot and cold options. Alison and her family were very warm and welcoming and add that extra special touch to the experience. We look forward to returning to the stunning Schoone Oordt Country House very soon!

Lovely hotel with superb dining and food. We stayed for one night and would recommend. The rooms are of historic decor so not as bright as a modern hotel, so set expectations accordingly. Similarly the bathrooms are of a vintage era and design and could probably do with updating. Lovely and helpful owner and staff.

We arrived earlier than expected and couldn't have been made more welcome. We were given tea and home made scones and sat on the balcony overlooking the beautiful garden until our room was ready. One of the most charming environments and comfortable stays on our wonderful trip. Our room was spacious and well appointed. We ate in the beautiful dining room that evening and had a delicious meal. Alison, the owner, and staff were very charming and helpful. To cap it all, on the morning we left, we were amazed to find our car being washed. We had a wonderfully comfortable and memorable stay and would recommend Schoone Oordt Country House highly to anyone travelling through Swellendam where the museum is well worth a visit.

Really great place!! A beautiful hidden gem with great hospitality and excellent food. Breakfast is amazing (3 courses) , as well as dinner! We had a great time here, well beyond expectations. We stayed here for 2 days with a family of 10 in total.

We arrived on a cold and wet afternoon and were welcomed with afternoon tea in front of the fire. Our room was great, so were the living and dining areas. We dined in-house and had an excellent meal. Can't recommend the staff, accommodation and food highly enough - a great stay.

We spent one night at the wonderful Schoone Ordt Country House in Swellendam on our big South Africa round trip. It was a fantastic experience. Although we stayed in numerous first-class hotels on our round trip, this small boutique hotel run by Alison, her husband Richard and their 22-year-old son Kai completely delighted us. The rooms in the main building and the guest rooms are extremely lovingly and authentically designed. The dinner was one of the best on our trip. The room and bathroom were large and there was also a fireplace, which Kai preheated on request during our dinner, so that we had a nice warm room after dinner. Later, we were also brought two small hot water bottles with lovely covers for our bed. Breakfast the next morning was a 3-course meal with very fresh and tasty ingredients. Alison said goodbye to us personally at check-out and told us the story of her hotel. We will certainly be back as soon as we travel to South Africa again.
