Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel and Spa

The environment is excellent, you can enjoy the fresh air and quiet, and the people who work there are very friendly, also the breakfast is always great with lots of healthy food.

Visited here for the first time as my grandmother used to work here as a house maid when it was a private house, so always wanted to see what it looked like. Beautiful old building and grounds with a modern extension. Paid extra to stay in the old part of the house. Staff are warm and welcoming. I booked a spa treatment which was excellent, and the pool area was nice to relax around and the water was lovely and warm. We booked a meal in the linden restaurant which was excellent, and not too expensive. Great service, except I had to wait quite a while for my bottle of wine while my husband had nearly finished his beer. Bed was comfortable with lovely pillows, air conditioning was a bonus and the room was immaculately clean. Lovely buffet breakfast next morning with plenty to choose from. Having a water fountain with still and sparkling water was a great bonus as was the fridge in the room and the coffee machine. Just a couple of things that would have made me give it 5 stars. No conditioner in the room only shampoo, having long hair I need conditioner. The room was on the small side with some big furniture in it so found it a bit of a squeeze sitting at the desk to dry my hair. Maybe a smaller table and chair arrangement would work better? The mattress was comfortable but starting to sag and squeak a bit so maybe will need replacement soon. The most annoying thing was there was a wedding on and as our room overlooked the garden there were some very merry people making a lot of noise until the sun was starting to come up so maybe provide earplugs in the front facing rooms!
