Holiday Inn Express & Suites Summerville

we arrived late in the evening and check was quick, cleaning service was good but pushy in the mornings to clean the room at their time. Swimming pool had no sign informing when it opens.

Friendly staff -clean room. Tried the breakfast but the pancakes were rubbery.

Perfect love location

Everything about this one-night stay was excellent. The rooms were clean and the check in process was excellent. The breakfast the next morning was also excellent. We felt very safe here and there are a lot of restaurants around the hotel for you to eat at.

Confy and friendly, a very pleasant stay. We will come by on our way back, and have already booked our stay here again. A satisfied customer. Came with the wife, she is very hard to please regarding cleanliness, and an “its ok” is a super great feat to attain.

I sneezed from the moment I checked in until I left… it seemed reasonably clean, but it’s dusty and needs a thorough scrubbing. In-room refrigerator has no freezer section. Towels are a little old and tired… but they did get one thing right and important… you can shut out the light with the blackout curtain and sleep in. Beds were comfortable. And something none of these hotels have figured out yet… after you take your glasses off and get in the shower… you can use their squeeze bottles mounted there with bath wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Except…. All you can read is DOVE, DOVE, DOVE… because the supplier is more interested in telling your their company name than what is in each bottle. Even squinting will not make the actual name of what is in the bottle bigger or readable… shampoo? You will have to guess! The bottles are packages for selling on a store shelf… not for use in a shower. Someone needs to tell the makers of the products. Free breakfast is just ok… the usual instant eggs and strange turkey sausage patty.

I am not a person who complains on people bc I know we all have our days and a lot going on in life that others aren’t aware of. So I will tell the good first… I have had to stay here for several months while my home has been renovated. I am a single mom to an amazing 4 year old boy who is on the Autism Spectrum who has been here with me 90% of the time. I have been extremely welcomed from the moment we moved in. The new GM actually walked outside to help me move some things inside. She was a wonderful experience. Everyone here has been nothing but amazing! Smiling faces, helpful, and extremely supportive and understanding of my son’s disability. With the exception of one person. I never right complaints, but I feel some people just aren’t a “people person” and it is very obvious in their daily actions. The front desk manager, Christina, has always been very quiet and has always seemed just disinterested in being here. I she is the only person I’ve seen that works here, that really doesn’t seem to work. She is constantly on her phone and I have had to wait for assistance until she finishes whatever she has going on with her phone, to get assistance. And when she does, she seems irritated and very short. Never smiles. Does not make you feel welcomed. I honestly try to stay in my room when she is at the desk. I try to avoid her. I will tell you the main reason why. With my son being on the spectrum, he had a meltdown in the hallway in the middle of the day. When we got to the front desk to buy him a snack, which is our daily routine, she held the snack from him that I already paid for, and bribed him with it saying “I’ll give you your snack but you have to be quiet. I heard you all the way up here from your room”. I was flabbergasted. I explained to her that he was in the hallway and not in our room and this isn’t a usual occurrence. Another time my sons grandparents stopped by to give him his Birthday Gifts and we stayed in the lobby for about 45 minutes to an hour. There was no one here or in the lobby but us. She continuously huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes at us as if we were a nuisance. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who is a manager, and the face of an establishment. She is the first face you are met with when walking in the door. I will never stay here again as long as she is here. There are some other things I was not happy about but I am only mentioning the biggest issues with me.

There is nothing special about this Holiday Inn Express. But nothing was horrible either. Decent breakfast with protein offerings. Beds were comfortable. Hotel and room was reasonably clean. Plenty of parking.
