This island has great snorkeling, similar to the Maldives. Unfortunately, it rained all day during our three-day stay. Luckily, we chartered a large boat from Koh Si and Coco Hotel (5,000 RMB) and arrived in Sumilon at noon. Since it was sunny, we immediately changed into our swimsuits and went snorkeling. The coral reefs were stunning. The next morning, we spotted a whale shark. The boat cost 2,000 RMB per person, departing at 9:00 AM. We didn't need to join a day tour; the other attractions weren't worth wasting our time on the island. Then, from that afternoon, it rained heavily for three days until we left. Thank goodness! Other Chinese tourists who only stayed on the island for a day or two said they didn't get to do anything. Unfortunately, we only visited one of the two beaches; we didn't get to visit the other due to the high waves and weather! The rooms were just as shown in the Ctrip photos. All the rooms are ocean-facing villas, lined up on the cliff edge. The standard rooms are closer to the lobby, so the privacy is a bit lacking, but it's very convenient for snorkeling. The bathroom was large enough, but the facilities weren't great. After our last dive, there was no hot water in the shower. It turned out the facilities were broken, so I took a cold shower, which caused me to catch a cold later! The food in the restaurant is ok, at least much better than the Paradise Island in Coron!
