Hotel 24 South is a wonderful place to stay! A historic downtown hotel near several very good restaurants! The service was excellent, the room spacious, and the bed very comfortable. It is near the Woodrow Wilson library which we were there to see.

Don't go unless you want to hear musicians practicing in the room next door. Not playing, which might be pleasant, but stopping and starting. Tedious to listen to. The hotel allows musicians to practice in rooms all over the hotel. When I asked for a different room, the hotel staff assigned me to another room next door to musicians. When I asked to move again, they said they didn't know which rooms were occupied by practicing musicians. In a breathtaking leap of logic, they then announced that there were no rooms available that were not next door to musicians. I gave up and checked out.

The lobby and location of the Hotel 24 are good. That’s it. Don’t waist your money and time. Samantha at the front desk ignored us for a while, no eye contact, no greeting. Reminded us a dry cleaning front desk. Samantha definitely needs a training or work somewhere else. Even the hotel was quite empty, we got the poor room with a big disgusting red spot in between two queen beds with the view of the hotel’s canopy roof, one chair only for 2 people, very basic room like motel6, but without microwave and no refrigerator, room 325. Key cards didn’t work, so I went back to reprogram them. No bottled water, no refrigerator and 90°F in Staunton. Curtains didn’t close properly, so the sunrise at 5am woke us up. Only white bread and plain bagels for breakfast. Asked for wheat bread, answer: we never have wheat bread. We stayed only one night, very disappointed. Not coming back.

I stayed here for eight nights while on an extended trip to Staunton, Virginia. This was also my second stay at this particular hotel. Overall, I think it's a wonderful value for money. The room was more than spacious enough with plenty of natural light. The bathroom had an excellent shower. And the restaurant and staff were quite good. Plus this is the best possible location you can get in Staunton. I definitely plan to stay here again in the future!

Cute historical hotel.
I only stayed for one night, but it was wonderful. The door was thin even though the walls were thick, so it was weird being able to hear people through the door as they walked by. The space was interesting, in a cute historical building kind of way. The hotel was in walking distance of all the major areas of interest and restaurants in the downtown area. I found the parking to be a bit confusing, and I know it was the low/off season, but I didn't feel like the hotel was staffed well for it's size. But overall, the bed was super comfy. The room was cute, and I would stay again.

Convenient and comfortable
We really appreciated the small fridge in the room.
Wish there was some way to redirect the AC so that it doesn’t blow right onto the one side of the bed when one is sleeping.

We only stayed for one night, so it was perfect for that! The room smelled slightly musty but I think that was just from the air conditioner vent. Everything else was clean. Staff were super friendly! Our room did not have a refrigerator so be sure to request one if you want one otherwise I think that might have knocked my review down a star… simply because more than a days stay would make me want a refrigerator.
Overall, happy with our stay and would go back again if we ever visit Staunton again!
