"So City hotel is in the centre of St Julian’s party hub. It’s surrounded by clubs and restaurants and cafes. My room was on the ninth floor watching on the other side of the noisy neighbourhood so it was calm with windows closed. When I opened windows I could hear everything like I am in the club. Room was nicely decorated and quite spacious. It could be more clean - I found some blemishes on duvet cover, looked like stains from makeup that couldn’t wash out. Also found some hair in the bathroom. Considering that water is not drinkable in Malta, they should offer complimentary water bottles for each day of staying- instead they give you just 2 half litre bottles for the whole staying. More than that you must buy. Also they offer just 2 coffee capsules for the whole staying- more than that you must buy. Breakfast was nice with lots of choices for eggs and omelettes, with additional continental breakfast items like toasts, butter, spreads, cheese and ham, some fresh fruit, and different kinds of pastries. Also they offered numerous juices and types of “milk”. It was fulfilling and cheap. Dining area is really nicely decorated with high ceilings and nice wall decors. Staff at the reception was great and helpful. Overall for that price it was 4/5."

"Location was nice but very near to Parceville so you have to consider that there will be loud club sound while you are sleeping at night. In the very middle of the night, there was a black out in my room and we called the receptionist and they came right away and fixed it. Overall, the service was nice and receptionist always did their best"

"I used it on my trip to Malta. The rooms are clean and simple. There is also a balcony, which is a nice place to eat breakfast in the morning. There is also a kitchen on the first floor, so it's convenient if you want to cook for yourself. There is also a supermarket nearby."

"The two best things about this hotel for me were the location and the service though in many ways wherever you stay the latter is probably going to be the most important. I rashly booked somewhere in St Julian not realising it was the centre of nightlife in Malta. I was hoping for somewhere more quiet! However, fate then led me to book the Ivy and I was glad in the end that I had booked ‘blind’. Its location is actually on a quiet street yet just a few mins from the action. Because if it’s location I’d certainly think about staying there again. The room was spacious, clean and really well apportioned. Super modern bathroom and pleasant balcony. The tea and coffee making facilities were unexpected but most welcome. I should mention the food. I had breakfast each day and it was tasty, varied and plentiful. I didn’t really go for the cooked breakfast option as I tend to prefer the traditional English cooked breakfast which I find is not easily replicated abroad. What I could see looked decent enough though. The service however is what sells the place. I don’t know the manager’s name but we did exchange a few words. She struck me as someone who runs a tight ship whilst also managing to nurture a genuinely friendly and helpful approach towards customer service. Service was therefore both efficient and effective, staff courteous and attentive. Qualities reflected by everyone I met. So, all in all, a great stay thank you!"

"The rooms are a bit small, others are good, and travel is very convenient. Breakfast is not used in the hotel, the breakfast price is 10 Euro per person. No extra bed in the room, no extra room There is no dedicated parking lot. There is parking space at the entrance of the hotel."

"The location is super convenient - centre of St Julian’s, which is a very touristy area with loads of night life. The amenities list mentioned that toothbrushes and toothpastes would be provided, but they did not have any, and asked me to go to the shop beside to purchase it myself. Otherwise, it was a nice stay for my friend and I :)"

"Good location, two main bus stops nearby, a lot of bars and restaurants and 24/7 shops and clubs. Good place for partying but a bit noisy because of that. During off season we could still hear music and laughter from outside. Hotel room very spacious and clean, it was clearly renovated recently. Terrible view, window to window with other rooms so couldn’t really open it due to privacy reasons. British style breakfast, tasty but repetitive. Overall very good place if you’re young and want to try out the lively part of Malta’s city life."
