We were travelling around Cornwall in a Camper Van. We found the Balnoon Inn on the Brit stops app. We pitched up in a lovely space with great views. Jon and Gemma provide a lovely warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They have been the new owners since March and have made some great changes to the place, and plan many more. Bring a novice Camper van owner, they were able to offer tips and advice and were kind enough to allow us to have a shower and eat our pizza on the premises. We will definitely return and will recommend to our friends and family.

Stayed for 3 nights recently. Excellent location, good parking. Pub has recently been renovated and new owners, Gemma and Jonny, were very welcoming. Room was a good size with comfortable beds. Food was filling with good portion sizes. Shame i didnt stay over a sunday as the roasts look excellent!

I stayed last minute . Thr bar and dinning room are beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfy and the vanity kit was very decent. Towels soft and shower powerful. You must try the full English/cornish. Cooked to perfection and they got the eggs just how I wanted them. The husband and wife team are warm and welcoming and the team are all so friendly. I was supposed to stay this Monday to Wednesday but something came up last minute. I will most certainly be back

We called and spoke to Jon to see if, as a BritStops member, we could park up. We arrived to a warm welcome on Friday evening, but due to unfortunate reasons, they had been let down by a chef. However, Gemma said she would sort something for us, which she did. This is very unfortunate for Jon and Gemma, as we saw a few pop in but as no chef they left. Tha Balnoon suffered from a poor reputation and has recently been taken over by Jon and Gemma and they have worked hard in turning it around, and they are almost there. Once they get the chef started (Tuesday) apparently this should boost morale and confidence in the customers and a good reputation will be gained. Thanks for the stay and good luck with your venture.

What an incredible place. Gemma and Jon have only taken over this venue this year. They are a lovely welcoming friendly family who can’t do enough for you. We went with our Maltese puppy and they were marvellous with her also. Jon gave a sausage of her own most breakfast times. The rooms are nice and although may need updating in places, these things are either in progress or on their todo list as only been open a few months. On top of that Gemma had a baby only 6 weeks ago, so taking on a new establishment and a new baby simultaneously is highly impressive. The location is also perfect being a few miles outside of st ives and close to main roads to get to st ives, Penzance, Hayle and other sites of interest, is easy. We look forward to going back in a few years to see how they’ve achieved their future plans for the place

This is a ‘MUST EXPERIENCE’ Pub & Restaurant. We were quite thirsty while we set out of St. Ivy towards Truro this afternoon and we stopped at this lovely Inn for a drink. The moment I stepped in - I felt a wonderful vibrations of this place- the service was excellent, and had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Johnny. The oak beams were oozing with character and the ambiance was very relaxing. There was plenty of space to park- surrounded by great landscapes on all sides. The remains of an old church yet exists between the carpark and the pub with an air of serenity, with a beautiful garden. Though Johnny took over this Inn only a few months ago he has refurbished it beautifully and restored the Oak beams, to its natural colour. He and his wife have achieved a lot, despite the birth of a baby only six weeks ago. The Soup my wife had and the scotch egg I had was excellent too. If you are looking for the best place to have a drink in St. Ives - this is it! I will try to upload some pics I took. A big thanks to Johnny and family.

We were staying at Pod St Ives's just up the road so braved the busy road and had a walk round. Nice pint and a friendly welcome. Liked the decor inside too, very smart and clean looking. The only feedback I would give to the owners is pop some background music on in the pub to make it feel a bit more alive, especially on quiet days, and get the correct opening times on Facebook / Google Maps or sort the website out because we didn't actually realise you were open We would definitely go back, and probably give the food a try
