“We had a truly wonderful stay at Simbavati Waterside. The hospitality and attention to detail made our experience unforgettable. Special thanks to our guide Sheddy for his deep knowledge and enthusiasm, our tracker Allan for his sharp eyes and calm professionalism, and our butler Richmond for his warm service and thoughtful care throughout the stay. Every part of the experience — from the game drives to the meals — was exceptional. We hope to return one day!”

Hol LabsThis has to be one of the nicest hotel in the safari. We stayed at the newly built 2 bedrooms plunge pool villa, it is spectacular! Everything is perfect, from the interior design, panorama view, pool, amenities, beds, service and everything is amazing! Our safari guide is the best, he is great with children and also very knowledgeable on everything in the reserve from animals, birds, trees, insects and roads, on and off roads. The kitchen staffs offers us delicious meals everyday, everything is perfect!

It’s our honeymoon, and we’re glad we chose South Africa as our honeymoon destination! Spent 4 nights at Grand Kruger Lodge and booked 2 game drives, a sunrise bush walk and sunset drive via the lodge.
The lodge staff were good representatives of South African hospitality; we were well taken care of since day 1 - from decorating our room to welcome us for our honeymoon, the delicious and homely dinner spread (we looked forward to checking out the handwritten menu on the blackboard daily!), the friendly chats to find out if we enjoyed our Kruger National Park experience, leaving us chocolates on our bed after dinner etc. Returning to the lodge after our day felt like returning home to meet close friends whom we knew by name. Special shoutout to Innocent (yes that’s a staff’s name) who even gave us a ride back to the lodge when he saw us walking on the dirt path back after visiting Marloth viewpoint!
The game drives were conducted by the lodge safari guides, while the bush walk and sunset drive were conducted by SAN Parks rangers. We got Tamba as our game drive guide and learnt loads from him! From learning how to identify male/female animals via their distinctive features, to looking out for telltale signs such as animal poop and footprints to determine if the animals were nearby, the drives were like a live Nat Geo experience!
Definitely miss this place and everyone we met at Kruger/Marloth. Thank you for the lovely memories 😊

Guest UserOverall, it was a great experience. The staff were mature and enthusiastic, and we had two private camp safaris daily, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, which were very well-organized. My only minor feedback is that the driver's knowledge of animal locations could be improved, as one entire afternoon safari was spent mostly observing birds. The hotel's three meals were very substantial. I would definitely choose this place again if I visit South Africa in the future.

Safe hotel, more like you stay in the village. The room has kitchen and pool not to far from the MALELANE gate.

The resort is huge. The rooms are big and beautiful. The best thing about the resort is that they have a lot of amenities on site. Great place for families and friends. The location is also close to a mall and the Kruger National Park

The hotel is nice itself with a lot of kitchen stuff to make your food and even with a braii (BBQ facility) in place. The surrounding is lovely with a small pool next to luxury rooms. The Marlothi park is another game reserve near Kruger and we even found some animals at night on the street to hotel.

Anonymous UserGood Lodge, by level - confident troika. Big territory, swimming pool (cold), small gym, bar, restaurant. Rooms spacious, beds comfortable, mosquitoes were not in May.
Breakfast is good, only coffee is required all the time. Yes, with drinks is not bad at all.
Of the downsides : hearing (but rather the doors are thin rather than the walls). They are often forgetting to update the water (at request).
P.S. Steaks in the restaurant are terrible. Safari from the park can be booked at the park office (cheaper, and cars and groups the same). Private safari from the boat is good.
From the downsides:
