"We live in Key West and come to Miami every 2-3 months. We have stay at this hotel, the Fontainebleau, or one of the 2 Kimptons for 5 years and always had a great experience at this hotel until this trip. It started at check in The guy at the desk “Carlos” was rude from the beginning. He was a smart aleck about everything. It was my wife’s birthday trip and it was definitely not the way we wanted to start it. Our room was hot and we didn’t have enough towels. We had dinner reservations and were going to see Andrea Bocelli. When we got back the room was still hot but we were exhausted from the day so we went to sleep. At 6:0am it was so hot it woke us up. My wife went to the front desk and a very nice Eloisa was there and helped my wife and they sent someone to look at it after 5 minutes it was working. I asked what was wrong and he said “it had a bubble in it” but acted like he couldn’t speak any more English. The thermostat was on cool and set 60° but the room never got below 74° at 6:00am. When my wife went to ask for a Double Tree Cookie she was told they were no longer a double tree hotel. This is one of the main reasons we stayed there and it has definitely changed. When we got there The Miami Dolphins were playing in Miami and every TV in the awesome bar area was off and I asked “Carlos” if they could turn the game on and was told it was under renovation but there was no sign of construction and if it was it had nothing to do with the tvs in the lobby. The entire vibe here is not what it was the last time we stayed here. This is a great location and one of the only hotels that still has a hot tub “but it only works half of the time”. He was also a **** about the pool towel card policy and said if I didn’t return the nasty reused card I would be charged $25 per card just to get a towel by the pool. If you do decide to stay there and there is a 20 something Spanish guy at the desk come back later for the sake of your peace on vacation."

Amazing
Ccm2024As people who travel regularly, we place a lot of emphasis on other reviews when booking. I was rather concerned reading previous reviews of this property, but having stayed at multiple other Ritz Carlton’s (Singapore, Koh Samui, Dalllas, Melbourne etc) we hoped the brand would live up to expectations and great experiences at other properties. IT DID NOT! Strongly suggest avoiding this property at all costs. Look at the low ranked reviews, they all make sense to me after staying. This property has us questioning if we would ever stay with this brand again. Amazing isn’t it, how one property can tarnish a brands reputation. We have been overcharged after checkout after settling the bill when leaving (unresolved at this point but will get to that later). The first room we checked into had air conditioning so loud you could not hear the TV. It was also dirty with marks and dust/grime on every surface and excess dog hair on the floor. I went to the front desk and the best they could do was “send someone up to check the A/C. The property was practically empty. This was not good enough! I was fortunate enough to speak with the GM who remedied the room situation immediately. We then dealt with Daniel (who was on loan from Santa Barbara Ritz Carlton) he was a great reflection on the brand. He upgraded us, which was appreciated but not expected, just a room with a reasonable a/c would have been fine. Rooms are very average, worn and not clean. Linen was stained, towels so old some had tears and holes in them. The majority of the staff seemed like they would rather be anywhere else than at the Ritz Carlton South, can’t say I blame them but really let the place down. When dining they would bring the bill before we had finished dining over and over, at times even advising their break was about to start so needed to provide bill, how about you get another staff member to do this… Upon checkout I paid with an alternate card than I used for the security deposit (to avoid international transaction fees). I settled the bill of approx $450usd and away we went. A few days later, a charge of $390usd (approx) appears on my original card used for security deposit (along with an international transaction fee). This charge is absolute rubbish and was not warranted, everything was settled and paid on check out. I rang and rang and rang all day to the hotel and the phone was never answered. Finally I had to call and international call centre where the wind noise in the background was so loud I could hardly hear. I was then told the extra was for bar charges (not ours!) we had one whisky and a coke at the bar which was on my bill at checkout. I was then told they would try to contact hotel and hopefully in up to 2 weeks they would respond to the call centre, and sometime after to me. This from Ritz Carlton? Disgraceful. We then got lucky and got the US call centre. This was much more helpful and the agent advised the hotel would call back the same day. Still no call back from Hotel, no explanation of why my card was charged… no invoice, no receipts. Now I need to go through the process of disputing the transaction with my bank. Really? The old saying one bad apple spoils the cart, couldn’t be more true of the Ritz Carlton South Beach. There were many other disappointing things that happened during the stay that isn’t even worth going into. Such an epic disappointment from this brand. I am hoping this property reaches out as promised but it holding my breath. Do better Ritz Carlton South Beach! Not wanting to end on such a sour note. Daniel (from RC Santa Barbara) was a standout for guest service as was Noela at the Valet, both embody what guest expect from RC.

GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful. We booked a partial sea view room in the main building, which has a maximum floor of 17. We were assigned a room on the 15th floor, and the ocean was visible diagonally in front of the window. The hotel also has an annex building, which appears to be about 10 stories high. When we booked, the Ocean Front room in the annex was the same price as the partial sea view room in the main building and included three breakfasts. After researching and reading reviews saying the main building was recently renovated and newer, we chose the main building room. The hotel entrance is surrounded by palm trees, and the lobby is quite grand. A path leading to the swimming pool from the side entrance has fountains on both sides, which are beautifully lit at night. The swimming pool isn't large, but it's surrounded by rows of beach chairs. Walking across the pool and out of the hotel leads directly to the beach – incredibly convenient! On our first day, we took photos and played in the water on the beach. The hotel provides dedicated lounge chairs and towels. Sun umbrellas cost an extra $30. After playing for a while, we went back to the hotel pool. Lying on a beach chair listening to live music, with staff offering complimentary snacks like frozen mango chunks, strawberry smoothies, and frozen coconut milk—small portions, but incredibly refreshing—were delightful. Free ice water, sunscreen, and towels were also available by the pool. The next day, I got up early to watch the sunrise on the beach. What I loved most was the hotel's buffet breakfast: $46 per person, $22 for children. Our room included two breakfasts; the selection was vast, and everything was delicious. The fruit was huge—blueberries and blackberries were much larger and sweeter than those in the Bay Area. The melons were also very sweet! Excellent value for money! The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Lincoln Street, perfect for a relaxing evening stroll. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Miami!

MMarko666The glass door is poorly soundproofed, the outdoor bar is noisy until midnight, and the pool starts to be cleaned at 7am. How can you expect people to sleep well? I used the old faucet for two days, but I still couldn't tell which direction to turn to get hot water. The winding maze-like stairs made me go up and down the stairs the wrong way after two days. Recommended for people who are interested in archeology.

Yyuna82We also used the private beach! Please note that service to both the pool and beach ends at 5pm. It was great that there were refillable bottles in the room and water could be refilled anywhere in the hotel! It's more eco-friendly than plastic bottles. We upgraded to a spacious junior suite, which was a great choice! Our family of four had plenty of room to spare. The bathroom was spacious, with a separate shower and chair. The amenities also had a nice scent. It was easily accessible from the airport, and we arrived in about 15 minutes by Uber for about 3,500 yen! From our room, we could see the neighboring tower apartment building and the beach.

GGuest UserThe ice maker on our floor did not work, we stayed 3 nights, I let housekeeping know, the ice maker was never repaired, the refrigerator in our room did not work. The bottled water provided in the room was. a $12 charge, parking was $75 a night. We had  2 margaritas at the beach $76. I don’t have a problem paying for extras but I felt the charges were excessive. The hotel room was very basic, not impressed. I will choose a different hotel on any return trips to Miami Brach

GGuest UserMust give a good review! The room is really nice, the service attitude is not as bad as mentioned in the comment section, and the environment is also very good. The beach is almost deserted, but the scenery is okay even if it is not a private beach. Although there are fallen leaves in the swimming pool, it is not very dirty. My skin is very sensitive but it was fine after swimming. Someone will clean the mats around the pool in the morning. Highly recommended

JJINGQIANGAt the beach in central Miami, the beach is at the doorstep. The shape is a 50s and 60s building, and the interior is a modern style that has just been renovated. It is very comfortable to live in, and there are fewer restaurants around.

GGuest UserThe room was adequate but not luxurious. The staff was polite. The location is good and quiet at night. There are trolley stops on both corners (Collins and Indian Creek) that allow you to travel around the island for free. There's a large supermarket (Publix) less than 10 blocks away. A Starbucks is just around the corner. However, the beach resort service was not honored. For half of our stay, they told us it was no longer available, which makes no sense because it's a contracted service that depended on a hotel located eight blocks away and is part of the same hotel group. This is stated on their website and in the terms and conditions agreed upon through the app. Breakfast is another area that needs improvement... they always served the same thing with few healthy options (scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, roasted potatoes, bread, and either a mandarin orange or orange). In short, it's an affordable hotel with a good location, but it doesn't deliver on its promises and the breakfast is quite poor.

GGuest UserPlace was very nice. Great view. If I had to point out some things. There are some drywall repairs that need attention. Few wobbly pieces of furniture. Bathroom faucet is a bit loose. I’d say invest some time on the aesthetics possibly get a better bang for your buck . Other than that . It was great. Those are my thoughts as I do home repairs for a living. Thank you for the experience and giving us the pleasure to stay at your home.
