Pro: The room size is big. Private and quiet. Feels like home. It is clean although was an old building.
Conts: Breakfast just ala carte nasi lemak or american with small portion of Rm 32. It is not included in the room booked and have to buy by walk in. I bought dinner and the nasi goreng istimewa is below expectation. The spa and all amenities closed at 8 pm while that is the time hotel guest are free after work.

MMizdhirahI recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Johor Bahru and had an overall pleasant experience. The room was quite spacious, offering a comfortable and relaxing environment. The hotel itself is located in an area with relatively light traffic, which is a nice bonus, although it is a bit farther from some of the more popular tourist spots. However, there's an Aeon shopping mall nearby, which provides convenience for shopping and dining.
As for halal eateries, I wasn't able to find many in the immediate area, but there is Woodfire, a restaurant just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, which serves good food. The hotel service was also top-notch, with the staff being attentive and professional.
While the location may not be ideal for those who want to be close to major attractions, the peaceful environment and the convenience of nearby amenities make it a solid choice. I would certainly not mind visiting again.

It’s a good option if you're looking for a simple and affordable place to stay. I had a pleasant time and would consider staying here again.

AAutumn WindWalking distance to eateries. Easy parking. Room with lots of amenities and come with buffet breakfast. However, the space in the room is a bit cramped. Value for money.

CChu Chee LoongLocation and eatery are convenient. Room design is modern but toilet is inappropriate with the glass wall designed as a family room, except for some wear and tear and a cockroach to welcome us. Overall good stay experience and we even planned for next trip with Kyoto before we check out, until we met 10 Nov morning shift receptionist with attitude issue, and check out process is slow. Frontline service crew is important, what a ”good” start for my day while seeing the black face during check out.

AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at this hotel and while there were some positives, there were also several areas that need improvement.
The room itself wasn’t very well maintained and had an old appearance. The furniture and decor looked dated, which gave the room a somewhat worn-out feel. Cleanliness could also be improved as there were a few areas that didn’t feel as fresh as expected.
On the bright side, the hotel offers full amenities, which was a nice touch. The location is definitely a highlight—there are plenty of eateries nearby. We enjoyed a delicious meal of lok lok at a spot just a short walk from the hotel. The owner of the lok lok stall was extremely friendly and provided great service, which added to our overall experience.
Overall, the hotel could use some updates and a focus on cleanliness, but the location and nearby food options were great.

GGuest UserThis hotel is near to custom. There are a lot of shops nearby which are convenient.
But the hotel carpark needs to walk a distance... not convenient for carpark...
The hotel room only provides disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner. Still alright.
No slipper and no face towel.
Will book again this hotel next time

GGuest UserLocation was closed to Mid Valley mall, we booked here for our weekends staycation. The check in process is fast and given room on 3rd floor #312 with window facing busy road.
Unfortunately, the vehicle noise can be heard even window is fully closed. We can’t sleep too due to aircon not getting work with correct setting.
Reception lady was very helpful in exchanging the room due to aircon not cooling after a moment of stay, it was free upgraded to family room on 2nd floor without window #217.
We are both having a nice sleep and will visit again in the new future.

WwinnettStaying at Midvalley Southkey Residence was a fantastic experience! The location is incredibly convenient—just a 20-minute walk or a quick 5-minute Grab ride to Mid Valley Mall, making shopping and entertainment easily accessible. Having Raku Ken Japanese Cuisine right around the corner was a real treat, offering delicious meals, while the cozy coffee shop next door was perfect for a relaxing break. The residence itself was well-equipped with thoughtful amenities like toilet rolls, shampoo for both hair and body, and even four glass cups, ensuring a hassle-free stay. Above all, the landlord was exceptionally flexible, accommodating, and highly responsive, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Truly a place worth returning to!
