We paid a ridiculous sum for two nights in this hotel and for the price breakfast wasn't even included, the swimming pool was small and on day 1 half if it was being used for private lessons and day 2 is was closed due to 'lack of chlorine' We booked because it had a pool. The menu was not very inspiring and we could hear other guests complaining loudly about the food so we got take out. The bar shut at 10.15 on friday night and two drinks was £15.00. The carpet had a stain which looked like a clean could have sorted and breakfast was cold, expensive and the orange juice was watered down and awful. The grout round the sink looked like it had been done by a 2 year old. To top it all the room was hot and there was some terrible noise from traffic and possibly an air conditioning unit or such like so despite the earplugs got very little sleep. Total waste of money! The only good points were the staff were not rude, and it had a jacuzzi and steam room when it was open.

A previous reviewer was really down on the King's Club which is a newer adjunct to the older Kingsmill Hotel where the main dining room and bar are located. I'm not sure if we could both be reviewing the same place. First of all I found the staff very helpful and nor clueless as suggested. The rooms are quite nice and I really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the Inverness golf course only a few feet away. Watching and chatting with passing golfers and dog walkers was a bonus. The room was spacious with a very nice bathroom which had a separate bathtub & shower. The breakfast buffet was quite nice if not over the top and the fruit was not old as suggested and the eggs were not disgusting. In fact they were presented exactly as at the Gleneagles resort which is definitely five star. It was an easy fifteen minute walk into the heart of Inverness. Overall I would certainly recommend the King's Club.

One of the best hotels is stayed during my visit for a wedding. The welcome was very warm and the room was spotless. The staff were very helpful and kind. A special thanks for the receptionist/housekeeper who checked me in and the breakfast waitress, since they both made feel at home and very safe (as I was a solo traveler). Very close to the city center as well, only 10' on foot.

The Beaufort Hotel was very disappointing. First of all, all staff had only been there under 2 weeks. New management. We booked 2 rooms....costing us about 600 pounds or $1000 CA. Upon check in, one room had a broken toilet that wouldn't flush. We were told to go enjoy our day in Inverness and it would be fixed when we returned. Upon returning to the hotel at 9pm, we could hear the toilet running as soon as we walked in. It was still broken. We went to the front desk. The man working said he had to call the manager to tell us how to resolve this. After an hour wait, we were told we would have to switch to a less expensive room with fewer beds (one being a pull out sofa bed with protruding springs). As the man on the desk was ”new”, a man in the lobby (who claimed to have worked there under the former management) has to make the room up for us. Yes...he was in street clothes....carrying a guitar....and was not a hotel employee. This room did not have the beds made when he opened the door....it honestly looked like a room they had deemed unfit and only use in case of emergency. The best were hastily (and poorly) made up. The window did now open. It was cramped and run down. The man on the front desk told us to ask in the morning about a free breakfast. Next morning, no one knew about a free breakfast. We didn't really have time to eat there anyway. I still expected to be refunded the difference between the room I booked and the room I stayed in. The manager (also new) says he cannot do any refunds. We should have received a free breakfast (no one knew about this so wouldn't honour it), and he claims he is unable to do any kind of refund. However...he says will offer us a good deal if we want to stay there again. This was a once -in-a-lifetime vacation for us. We clearly won't be back. Rooms are run down. Building is hot. All staff are new. Communication is poor. Manager/owner is incompetent and inflexible. Hotel needs major overhaul. Weird smell. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

GGuest UserVery clean, especially the sheets are very clean and tidy, especially the breakfast quality is very good, the service is first-class
GGuest UserWe enjoyed 2 nights stay here recently. Having been regular visits to this hotel over the years, it was great to return once again. Many familiar faces, with Grace on reception who is the most lovely person ever!. We were greeted by the Concierge who was as always very helpful. Welcome glass of champers was much enjoyed. Kevin the general manager, was friendly and helpful and always around during our stay. Marcus was once again in attendance and remembered us well from our previous visits. The bar and breakfast/dinner staff were all so friendly and chatty and made us feel very much “at home”. The room as always was so comfortable, bed very large and pillows which were so comfortable to sleep on. It’s a lovely touch to have the turn down service and Scottish fudge left for you in the evening. 2 bottles of complimentary water provided and a fridge. Dinner in Torrish was lovely and portion size just right. All food was presented so well and tasted as good as it looked. We had champagne afternoon tea and it was very good. Small bites of savoury and sweet which were all eaten up and enjoyed very much. More filling than it looks, so be aware if planning dinner later! Breakfast is a mix of continental and cooked breakfast with a choice for everyone available. Can’t wait for our next return trip as it’s a special hotel for sure!
FFinlayscot5 star Simple service Staff were very welcoming room was appropriate and as expected The food was simple but done well and the hotel is only a stone throw from the Inverness airport Parking was cheap I couldn’t fault the hotel and will definitely stay again when visiting Inverness
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located in the center of Inverness. It is simple and bright. The receptionist is patient and enthusiastic. The restaurant is on the right side of the reception. The food is very Scottish and the price is reasonable. The largest second-hand bookstore in the UK is about 100 meters away from the hotel (it was closed when we arrived). Next to it is Ness Bridge. We arrived at nearly 7 o'clock in the evening. The sky was still bright. We had dinner at a Turkish restaurant in the city center. The barbecue was very authentic. We walked along the banks of the River Ness. It was a quiet and beautiful city. As soon as we turned into the city center, the nightlife was also very lively. There were many people at the entrance of the bar and karaoke hall. We walked back to the hotel slowly. It was past 9 o'clock and the sky was still bright. We washed up and made up for the jet lag. The next morning, the hotel's buffet breakfast was very rich, with six or seven varieties of milk alone. Sit on the bank of the River Ness and enjoy the fresh morning. In short, it was a very comfortable stay.
GGuest UserGood breakfast, very helpful front desk staff, good beds and pillows, bathroom small but efficient. Toiletries minimal, but workable. Broken light fixed quickly. But the overriding issue was noise from neighbours, primarily due to thin walls. TV from one side early in the morning, and late night conversation on the other side. I don’t think they were unreasonable— just the sound insulation was poor.
SsamanthamZ2917AEFirst the good. The place is very nice, clean and well appointed. Beds are comfy, curtains block the sun which is important in summer when it’s light out til 10 and the sunrise is at 5. Very modern, pleasant bar/lobby. Hotel smells lovely. Lobby has fruit water for guests. Showers are nice- although weird. The wall behind the glass is peeling but it’s sealed in so it’s fine. Hotel is close to the rail, a short walk. Now the challenges. While the staff was trying their best, this place has poor organization. You sit down to eat at the restaurant and if you don’t tell them to come take your order they may not. We did that, still sat for 20 minutes before someone came to take our order, took it, brought our drinks and then returned to say the kitchen had stopped taking orders because a large group was coming down in 10 minutes and the oven was too small. They told us we had to wait 1 hour 45 minutes for our meals. They refused to serve us, despite traveling with an elderly person who could not easily walk around the block to find another meal. We had to leave in search of food. This is despite having asked the day before if we needed to book our meal. We were emphatically told no, even though they had clearly already booked the other large group for a meal, and the kitchen could not service more people. This is what I mean my poorly organized. The kitchen had not communicated with the staff, so they gave the wrong information. Also, despite checking ahead several times and being told we could sleep 3 in one of the rooms, when we arrived we learned we could not. We were traveling with our son, making this difficult. Then, we took a third room but they booked it far from the other. We then discovered our third room had adjoining doors- so we asked to move my son to the adjoining room. They did, but that’s something they should have known and arranged first. There is just little thought on customer service here. Overall would not stay here again.
GGuest UserVery nice hotel, well situated and adequate for our needs, not much can be found at fault with this place staff were pleasant and attended to our request when asked. I would definitely stay here again.
JJuneCan't leave proper review as made a genuine mistake with booking ...had entered wrong dates....was visiting my dad in hospital so had to rebook another hotel very quickly ,so never got any refund at all not even partial refund so lost all the money paid for hotel and breakfast ...
