It is a very romantic place overlooking the Indian Ocean from everywhere with dolphins and whales jumping. Excellent wine list and art. Beautiful rooms with large terraces, very private and romantic. Absolutely recommandable! We will come again.

I want to be fair to future travellers - unfortunately our experience was anything but poor (horrendous) we arrived Boxing Day ‘22 - after staying at Kampa lodge (amazing) - we should have arrived Christmas Day - but honestly thankfully we didn’t and actually stayed in Johannesburg airport which was luxury in comparison. I don’t want to take it out on the manager as she tried her best - but the hotel needs a complete refit - rooms has mould issues - so my daughters couldn’t sleep in theirs - they bunked down on our sofa - dinner was a farce - cleaners watching a YouTube video on how to cook . We cut our losses, should have stayed 4 more days but checked out the next day and headed to Oyster Bay.

We spent our 20th Wedding Anniversary recently at Days at Sea. This was a surprise getaway for my spouse. I contacted Cindy(manageress) at Days at Sea to assist me with the booking as well as to help me with some planning to make the surprise to my spouse extra special. Cindy went out of her way to ensure that all that I asked for was arranged as requested. If you are looking for a romantic getaway I would strongly suggest Days at Sea. The views are breath taking. The staff are always willing to assist and serve with a smile. Chantal and I will definitely be back at Days at Sea.

Set in wonderful tropical gardens with access to the sea. Days at Sea was very enjoyable, particularly the staff, who went out of their way to ensure our stay was effortless. Cindy, Sizwe and all the staff were superb and made us feel very welcome. From the warm welcome to the even warmer good bye, we had a lovely time. The food was delicious too. Breakfasts were freshly prepared and extensive. The muffins and flapjacks a particular favourite. The only 2 drawbacks were 1.) the rooms were a little dated. I get the owner had a particular style some years ago but things change and people want a bit of beachside chic, especially if it is deemed 5 star. The room we were in had holes in the white arty chairs and there were buttons missing from the seat. That should not be the case at a 5 star establishment. The floors were also pretty old, with the silicone sealant old and dirty around the shower. The curtain also had a stain on it and it didn't quite fit the window width. The outside table was very badly scratched and looks like it was decades old. A handy bowl, filled with shells placed over it. These rooms are expensive and you would expect them to be top notch, at all times. 2.) The drinks are way too expensive for a South African beach lodge. You are charging more than the very best SA hotels, akin to European prices, if not more. You want guests to relax and enjoy themselves at a beach lodge, not disappear into their rooms.

Kamen nach über 7 Stunden Fahrt von Coffe bay in Trafalgar an. Bereits die letzen Kilometer führten uns in eine andere Welt, nach der Garden Route hatten wir die Wild Coast besucht, ein kleines Abenteuer. Ab Trafalgar nun wieder erstmals: gute Strassen, nobles Ambiente, das Days at Sea liegt in einer exclusiven Gegend über dem Meer. Das Tor zum Grundstück öffnet sich, das Auto ist geparkt - und alles ist gut, sehr freundlich-sympathischer Empfang :-) Und: hier ist es von Süden kommend erstmal "tropisch-dampfig", deutlich wärmer. Einfach schön. Lage: Traumhaft über dem Meer; von der Anlage geht es durch einen Dschungelstreifen (gesicherte Zugänge) an den Naturstrand. Auch das herrlich. Anlage: Die Fotos und reviews zeigen es: klasse Design, viel modern-art, wirklich etwas besonderes in herrlicher Lage. Unglaublicher Weinkeller. Restaurant super Feeling, Illumination am abend auch. Dazu noch eine "Bar-Location" nebendran. Toller gepflegter Garten. Zimmer: Wir hatten die Honeymoon Suite oben. Fantastische Terrasse mit Blick über den Pool zum Meer, mindblowing ! Die Suite erstklassig, alle Annehmlichkeiten vorhanden, Top-Niveau. Direkter Zugang zum Meer & dann zum Beach. Service: waren in der auslaufenden Saison hier und neben einem Business-Man aus Brasilien die einzigen Gäste. 2 super sympathische nicht mehr ganz junge Jungs haben den Laden geschmissen und uns bedient. Das war echt gut. Bis hierher alles top. Dinner: Das war - obschon Qualität & Geschmack OK - eine für uns gefühlte "Nebensaison-Angelegenheit". 450 R pro Person für einen starter (Linsensalat) & ein Hühnercurry & einfache Erdbeer-sobremesa waren da eher im unteren Preis/Leistungsbereich im Vergleich zu dem, was wir in unseren 4 Wochen ZA sonst hatten (z.B.Prana Lodge 4 Gänge 550R pp auf höchstem Niveau). Wir sind wirklich nicht überkritisch, siehe meine reviews, aber das war in der Tat nicht "ausgezeichnet", sondern nur "befriedigend". Frühstück: English breakfast top, hat aber zu lang gedauert (45 min für die Eier) und wir fragen uns, warum der 2. Café und Orangensaft berechnet werden. Wegen 6 EUR machen wir aber keinen Stress, das Thema Frühstücks-Café hatten wir ein paar mal in ZA, alles ist gut ! In jedem Fall: Klare Empfehlung fürs Days at Sea, ein herrlicher Platz und ganz weit vorn bei den Accomodations unseres 4-Wochen-Trips :-) In der Saison ist der kulinarische Level auch ganz sicher da, wo er hingehört ;-)
