We stayed at Marhaba Royal Salem for a week in March and let me just tell you it was one of the best holidays we've been on considering the price we paid and that Tunisia isn't as developed as other places we've visited such as Spain. I have to admit, there were flies on the beach and around the pool but it wasn't that bad considering we went to Morocco last year and it was way worse. There wasn't any flies in the restaurant but I don't know how this will be in summer. Our room maid for 409 and 410 was amazing. She always smiled and greeted us in the corridors and even gave us chocolates one day, left a rose in each of our rooms another day and also made designs with the towels on the bed every day such as swans and hearts. We didn't get her name but we did tip her on the last day and she was very thankful. Our waiter for breakfast and lunch asked us our drinks on the first day and after a few days, would have our drinks ready as we walked in the restaurant. He also took our plates after we finished with it so we had more space when we ate dessert or went for seconds. Our dinner waiter was the same and both of them would refill your drinks as soon as they saw it was running low and so we tipped 10 dinars for each meal but it's okay because they deserve it especially because they were watching us eat and drink while fasting for Ramadan. The lady who does the eggs in the morning remembered what my daughter got every day and would have it ready for her. The people at the hotel bar and beach bar were also amazing and were quick to make drinks. At the beach bar, there was only one guy working and he did drinks for everyone and would come serve you at your sunbed after you order the drinks. Also the animation team were amazing especially Marco, Mido, Sabeur but also Simon and Choco. They have something every night and you can go to Marhaba Salem if you don't like what's one at yours on a night. Crouch was amazing and he was always checking up on us - he's the tall guy from customer service. Also, people at Reception were helpful and changed our rooms for us straight away when we asked them if we could. We also did a photoshoot and got some lovely family pictures. It was a bit expensive but make sure to negotiate the price. The photographer guy also gave us a free lift so we could go exchange dinars and not have to pay for a taxi or go walking late at night. Overall, it was a really great holiday and although we don't like to go back to the same hotel again, I think we might come back in a few years time especially because of the staff who work so hard and I hope it's the same people who work there. Thanks for an amazing holiday!
