This review is something of a compromise as I did not read the small print and missed that this ‘hotel’ is really for large parties who are happy to self-cater. The rooms / suites are big, and the lounge area has a fridge, sink, microwave and cooker - as well as a barbecue on the upstairs patio. If you have arrived with a car and can shop easily then this is for you.
However, only breakfast is catered for regularly (with not much choice) and lunch only if prebooked. Other than that - no food or drink is available at all! So bring your own ‘bar’ as well.
The small garden, pool, outdoor dining, beach with kayaks etc are very sweet - and peaceful. My wife loved it; I managed as we could easily walk around to the larger Hotel Atatlan - where the large restaurant and bar always seemed to be open!

Excellent service and great location we highly recommend recommend this hotel located 5 minutes away from Panajachel Thanks William for you excellent services. Super nice guy. Also the front desk guy They offer one day pass including lunch and pool and lake access.

Wonderful Service and Incredible View
The staff at Hotel San Buenaventura was so lovely and kind. They helped us arrange a TukTuk into town and pointed us toward the Nature center close by. We loved the views from the pool and lake. They did not have an evening restaurant or bar and so we went down the street. Loved our stay.

We had a great time, great experience everything was wonderful the breakfast. Everything was so beautiful. The only thing that we did not like it was that when we bought our ticket through ******* says that the airport was 1:15 from us he hotel and that was a big lie, it was almost 3 hours and a half away from the airport that it was kind of disappointing for us because we were expecting to get there sooner. That was only unexpected time for us, other than that, we had a great time there.

Rooms clean, great breakfasts. Rey quiet and relaxing. Easy to get a Tuk-Tuk just by walking up to the top of the long driveway. There seems to be one available as they drop people off at other hotels or the nearby natural reserve/park and drive back up the road. All staff helpful and polite. I’d recommend the suites for the spaciousness and views. Somewhat rustic compared to a modern hotel. Rooms and bathrooms were all very clean with daily service.
