We are seasoned PI visitors. I can say hand on heart that we've never really had a bad stay anywhere in the UK. We were staying here to visit friends near Stratford Upon Avon. This hotel is a great base for that and the Cotswolds, also the attractions in and around Birmingham. This is a review of two halves. Let's start with the inside - the room was very modern and clean. It's clearly been modernised throughout so had a slightly different feel to it. This also meant that the furnishings inside the room were sparse. Really small table compared to the old desk/dresser that used to be in every room so hardly anywhere to put your 'stuff'. We stayed with our 15 year old but I can only assume that if you had little kids with lots of travelling toys, it would be more difficult for them to have space to play. The bathroom was spotless and the beds were as comfy as always. We didn't use the restaurant for any meals so can't comment on the food. Now, the second half, the outside. If my review was based on the outside alone, this would absolutely be a 1* review. It's terrible. The description on the hotel's website is that you can see rolling hills or similar from every room. This hotel is in a suburban outskirt of Solihull. You have to travel a little further to see those hills. Paint was peeling off every surface, broken bottles, weeds, it looked completely uncared for. And this is every visitor's first impression.

My daughter had an interview to go to so, as we live in East Sussex we decided to sleep the night before so we would be fresh for the following day. The area it’s in is very pretty and quiet. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean and comfortable and was very calming. Ticked all our boxes and had a lovely night sleep so we were in the right frame of mind for the interview the following day.

Ok I am a seasoned Premier Inn visitor however as someone else has commented this is a visit of two halves . Lovely staff and a modern refurbished clean comfortable room . BUT closing down the Beef eater is a huge error , the eating area is now a soulless grubby experience . There was one member of staff who was booking people in, waitressing and pouring drinks, she was lovely but the whole experience felt down market, dirty and shabby .The outside of this Premier inn is also very very scruffy and I felt like leaving straight away. Premier Inn what are you thinking of you have lost your way . Eating is part of the experience and I do not want to feel as if I am eating in a third world country with poor lighting and filthy carpets . I won’t be back however nice the rooms are . It would be better to shut the restaurant down as in the end this ill thought out business plan will ruin your company’s reputation.

It was a very quiet hotel and we got a really good sleep. Clean room and plenty of space for a family of four. Friendly staff at breakfast. The lady who served us Charlotte, was really friendly and helpful and went out of her way to make our breakfast a fabulous experience. Thank you!
