Herriots Hotel

We enjoyed a four night deal for bed, breakfast and evening dinner which was great value. The hotel is in a great location across from the railway station and on the Leeds/Liverpool canal. Easy walk (5 minutes) into town. Good size car park. We had a good sized double room on the first floor overlooking the patio/beer garden. Very comfortable bed. Tea/coffee making facilities. Rhubarb restaurant was lovely and the food was excellent. Nice bar area with a good range of cocktails.
The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa - Skipton

Overall, 3.5* for our dinner/bed/breakfast/ spa visit, which had been bought as a birthday present for £400. Negatives: The room makes up over half the value of the voucher. It is spacious, clean and functional but feels very ”budget”. The bed was made up of 2 single beds pushed together. The electric heater on the wall and tea/coffee facilities also had a cheap feel. We spent over £500on a 1 night stay including spa treatment so was hoping for a room facing the lake+dales rather than a car park. I've seen comments from others that they would move you to a lake view room if you pay extra! Positives: The spa was extremely nice and we both enjoyed the facilities, especially the outdoor jacuzzi when the sun was going down and the stars were coming out on a cold Jan evening. The evening meal was really tasty. I had fish of the day (sea bream) and chocolate brownie which was excellent. The staff were good, but after asking for our bill it took them 30minutes to sort which was annoying (”dinner” in the deal means £35allowance per person, you have to pay the difference). Breakfast was ok. We had a table by the window which did provide a good view. The bean portion was tiny;the tomato was undercooked. I declined mushrooms and black pudding but the other bits were ok. 2 sausage would be nice. We went for a walk around the grounds before we left, which is highly recommended. Overall I would recommend the spa+restaurant - they were excellent, but I think the room+breakfast at the premier inn down the road would be better for a fraction of the price.
Skipton Hotel - Formerly Known As Hotel Rendezvous-Skipton

A great break away in a beautiful part of the UK. Great for walking and relaxing. Skipton is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel and a local pub (Bay Horse Inn) only 3 mins the other direction if you fancy a drink in a local pub. Staff at hotel were very friendly and welcoming and the Canal view room gave views of the rolling hills beyond (as well as swans and canal barges gently passing by on the canal). BEd was super comfy and the room clean with everything we needed including free wifi. Bathroom had a bath and shower and plenty of space around the sink for toiletries etc. (Not the usual pokely little shelf that you get in other places). GReat location for walks up onto the fells - leaving car at hotel car park. IDeal Highly recomend.
The Plough
4.5/546 Reviews
The Plough Inn was a delightful place to stay. The staff were very friendly and the room was spotless! I had the best nights sleep ever because it’s so nice and quiet. The food was absolutely delicious also, both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced. Parking is free and plentiful. Would love to visit it again. A lovely, cosy Yorkshire dales vibe.
