We got a really good rate through the Trip website. Kelsey on reception changed our room because there was no bath in the first room. The staff at the hotel were very smartly dressed. The food at breakfast was excellent. We are two nights in Macleod. Again the food was excellent. We would recommend this hotel. The only negative was if you hadn’t booked a spa break you had to pay £30 each to use the pool.

Went to View restaurant today for lunch after reading reviews in a newspaper and online. My husband had ceaser salad which was ok(not easy to mess up) he had fries with it which were only just warm. I had belly pork with crackling which wasn't crackly, red cabbage which was nice and mash. Not sure what mash was mixed with but was a dark brown colour (very off putting) and 1 small carrot again it was all nearly cold. Wouldn't recommend and definitely won't be going again.

Excellent place and tailored service from all staff. Particular mentions to Simran, Jen, Anna Catherine and lovely girl on reception. Great food and pastry chef. Great for couple's. Spa was great as drinks are brought to you. Great location and will definitely be returning.

My handsome chap and I visited for the weekend for his birthday. I initially booked the clay pigeon shooting and then the hotel. I had asked for a bottle of bubbly on arrival seeing as it’s a special occasion and it was chilling waiting for us when we arrived. Our room was lovely. Massive bed, plenty of storage, pretty views over the lake and really clean. Breakfast was good. Nice selection of continental and a decent full English. The hotel is in driving distance of Skipton Castle which was ace and Malham Cove which was a nice cob web blowing meander. On the Sunday we went clay pigeon shooting on the estate. Massive shout out to James, Sue and especially Jim. Who at 78 years young was patient, helpful and good fun. I had never been clay pigeon shooting before and I’d love to do it again. We shot pretend Teal, pigeon, rabbits and a few more to boot. Really well organised and just lovely people. Back at the hotel we had a fabulous Sunday lunch served by Jen and her team. Social thanks to Jen, Leanne and Beth. They honestly couldn’t have done enough for us. Professional, sweet and helpful. They even sang Happy Birthday to my lovely man…..and brought chocolate cake and a candle!! Jen was fabulous. So accommodating and lovely. The food was fabulous and we had all we needed on site. Didn’t manage to make it to the spa but will do next time. We wandered up and it looked beautiful. Lots of facilities and a lovely pool. The couples retreat and the romantic baths outside looked like a perfect place to watch the sunset. We will definitely have a day there next time we visit. The receptionists Eva and Cheryl couldn’t have been more welcoming. They were so helpful and kind. We had a little problem with the WIFI but Eva got David the estates manager to fix it for us. Again he was helpful and kind. The staff here really make this place. Everyone was so lovely and really made our stay a relaxing one. Can’t wait to go back and sample the spa and maybe try some archery this time!

Visited with friends for a spa weekend Check in was easy and quick and staff friendly. Due to problems with the windy weather the main entrance was changed and went straight into the bar which made any comings and goings very cold, we ate one night in the view and one night in Mcleods the food was average at best and on both occasions the fries were anaemia and undercooked. The service at mcleods was friendly but incredibly slow and we ended up abandoning desserts due to the length of time waiting. The reception staff apologised for this when we asked them to add the bill to our room. Breakfast was included and in the View, breakfast was lovely, well cooked and plentiful with good service. The rooms were dated no instructions on how to use the heaters and in one of our rooms it hadn’t come on and it was 14 degrees until we figured it out. The rooms are dated and could do with an update. The bathroom was tired with mouldy grout and dirty extractors. The shower was warm and powerful but unfortunately part of the shower screen was missing which meant the bathroom floor flooded. Water, tea and coffee were well stocked and replenished and the beds were comfortable. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. The spa was lovely overall and we spent most of the time in the outdoor warm jacuzzi and with the view and the company this was lovely. Plenty of towels and robes provided. Unfortunately again had to let staff know that the toilets were dirty the staff member apologised and said she would deal with it straight away. We won’t be rushing back.

Overall, 3.5* for our dinner/bed/breakfast/ spa visit, which had been bought as a birthday present for £400. Negatives: The room makes up over half the value of the voucher. It is spacious, clean and functional but feels very "budget". The bed was made up of 2 single beds pushed together. The electric heater on the wall and tea/coffee facilities also had a cheap feel. We spent over £500on a 1 night stay including spa treatment so was hoping for a room facing the lake+dales rather than a car park. I've seen comments from others that they would move you to a lake view room if you pay extra! Positives: The spa was extremely nice and we both enjoyed the facilities, especially the outdoor jacuzzi when the sun was going down and the stars were coming out on a cold Jan evening. The evening meal was really tasty. I had fish of the day (sea bream) and chocolate brownie which was excellent. The staff were good, but after asking for our bill it took them 30minutes to sort which was annoying ("dinner" in the deal means £35allowance per person, you have to pay the difference). Breakfast was ok. We had a table by the window which did provide a good view. The bean portion was tiny;the tomato was undercooked. I declined mushrooms and black pudding but the other bits were ok. 2 sausage would be nice. We went for a walk around the grounds before we left, which is highly recommended. Overall I would recommend the spa+restaurant - they were excellent, but I think the room+breakfast at the premier inn down the road would be better for a fraction of the price.

After a mix up with our room last year we were kindly invited back again, and WOW- our stay was absolute perfection! All of the staff were amazing and our room (one of the Dales suites) was absolutely fabulous. A big thank you also to Hazel on reception who checked us in and out 🙂 Thank you once again, we it was a perfect start to our Christmas and we will definitely be back in 2025.
