Skipton Hotel - Formerly Known As Hotel Rendezvous-Skipton

Very nice hotel

It was a spacious room, nice and comfortable mattress. Although it is next to the main road, it was quiet at night. Lovely view to the back, they call it river view. It is a cannel where had a lot of ducks, geese and swan swimming up and down. A good place to stay.

We recently come back from staying in this hotel, we stayed 2 nights, on arrival it looked promising, we had taken the trip for my mums 60th birthday, we got into pur rooms, very basic and needs updating, we had 3 rooms between us, our rooms on the 3rd and 5th floor were like saunas, it wasnt even hot outside, was a terrible nights sleep, my mums room on the 2nd floor was fine temperature wise, we had our first night, the next morning my niece 11 years old found 2 tablets broken in half on the floor when she moved her bed to be closer to a socket, they also had a 2 year old in the room, we complained what if the 2 year old had eaten them, we got a back handed apology from the manager, he apologised but then had many excuses how the rooms could nit be thoroughly cleaned after every guest, shocking in my opinion, we then paid 12 each for breakfast to sit at the table full of dirty stained cups, we passed them to kitchen staff who were mortified and fetched clean ones out, breakfast you were stood waiting for items all the time mean while your breakfast was going cold, not worth £12, the pool area was the best area of the hotel, then on my mums actual 60th we had been out for a meal, came back to the hotel, sat in reception area as no one was present, being mindful we had 2 x 2 year old boys, so they could run about, we weren't over loud, but did have to shout their names a few times, when they were up to no good, a member of staff came down from the bar upstairs and asked us to keep the kids quiet, i have never known anything like it, i told her no we could not, and the rooms are like saunas so i wasnt prepared to sweat up in the room with my child, next morning we complained again to the manager who gave us another back handed apology, full of excuses, we had spent over 10000 pounds in that hotel, and got someone else’s medication, dirty pots, cold breakfast, and told to shut our kids up, save your money people

Location nice on canal. Breakfast was ok Evening meal was not worth the money. Room was big . Paid extra to overlook canal but thought it was pricy. One off visit and would stay elsewhere in future.

This hotel is well worth a visit, room were very clean and the staff were very friendly, I would definitely stay there again.

Booked B&B with Wowcher spoke to hotel and paid a little more for a room facing the canal this was perfect, room clean spacious with bath and shower. Bar area was nice for drinks and they had a singer on in the evening. Evening meal was poor, Sunday morning 9am breakfast was chaos but the self serve food was fine, Staff are really nice Thank you
