As my Family and I were travelling for a Soccer Tournament, we planned ahead and booked a room through the company I work for, as we have a contract with this Hotel that gives us a discount, over a month in advance. Showed up to check-in on Friday night, gave them the confirmation number and company I was with and was told that the room had been cancelled, would not tell me by whom or why. They said they were sorry but had no more available rooms at that time, again I showed them the confirmation email from the month prior and asked how this could happen, to no avail, just an apology. Called my company contact and was told that it was not them, as there is 1 person that does the booking, it was not hard to track down that my company was not the ones that cancelled. So here I am at 9:00 at night trying to find another Hotel to get my family into to get cleaned up and rested, as we had to be back on the road again by 8 a.m. for more games, already played 2 that day. Ended up finding a Hotel after multiple calls, that ended up costing significantly more than what this would have cost at our company rate. As there was another Sporting Event in town that weekend also, rooms were scarce.
