As a Diamond member of HHonors I expected better. There were black and red previous stains on the carpet. There must be something that could be used on those stains? Yuck! It is a more modern type of hotel but it needs a better cleaning effort for sure. The breakfast was good. It now costs much more to receive the food and beverage credit of $10. On average I spend seven dollars more than the F & B credit. Diamond members used to get breakfast, not including the tip.

My wife and I were spending a night to celebrate our anniversary and her birthday. Upon check-in, hearing out story, Michelle and Brittany gave us a free upgrade and breakfast coupons. We were treated like royalty! A+++. We also enjoyed our meals in the Crave restaurant, with good food and service. The upgraded room had a wonderful view of the river and downtown and a balcony to enjoy both, especially at night.

The Staff and Rooms are exceptional. This property is managed very well. As a Diamond Level Hilton Member, they were gracious enough to upgrade us to a suite. The Crave Restaurant is suburb, probably one of the best restaurants in town. This has to be one of the best hotel restaurants that I have ever eaten at. If traveling to Sioux Falls, I sincerely recommend this hotel & restaurant.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a decent three-star hotel located in downtown Sioux Falls. It has a lot of convenances on the premises like a Starbucks, a full-service and decent restaurant, a gym, and laundry facilities. I have stayed here a few times, and while I love the hotel’s location, there are a few big issues with this property. Firstly, the build quality of the structure is questionable, the walls are really thin and one can hear noisy neighbors, people talking in the hallways, etc. Secondly, the amenities and quality of the room are pretty cheap – the beds are super hard and uncomfortable, the shampoo and soaps are of the cheapest quality, and if one looks closely at the furniture, it is in embarrassingly terrible shape. Thirdly, by far my biggest complaint is the HVAC system – they still have those terrible cheap AC units that stick out of the walls. The units are noisy and are either too cold, or too warm. I would also note that the front desk staff are frequently not at the front desk, and one may wait several minutes before a person shows up. It appears the hotel is going under some renovation in anticipation of potential re-branding as a “Caitlin.” Hopefully this takes care of some of the issues like the cheapness of the beds, but overall, it won’t remedy issues like the noisiness or subpar AC units.

Great location downtown....we had a suite (kind of a scaled down Embassy Suites suite...but perfect 2 rms & bathroom) Close to the Falls Park and nearby restaurants. The shopping area was great with many restaurants as well. The one elevator was not working with a full house of guests plus parking was a bit difficult but bottom line this is a beautiful hotel and we would definitely return. The staff were very accommodating.

I came for work and decided to stay through the weekend to enjoy the city. The staff were awesome. They made me feel right at home and were so friendly. It was perfect having the walking path right outside along the river, a Starbucks right downstairs, and the restaurant was amazing. I’ll make it an annual trip to stay here. I haven’t had my room refreshed at any hotel since Covid so I was pleasantly surprised to see they did this.

Shayna was so pleasant with check-in. She has a great smile. Since this was the first time staying here, she let us know about the hotel so we could enjoy it to the fullest! We had a room with a fantastic river view. I think that we will be taking advantage of happy hour at Crave.

I was at this hotel for two different stays in the space of a week, and definitely will go back if I am in Sioux Falls again. The rooms were very clean, the location perfect for getting around on foot downtown, and the staff were super helpful. Bonus: Starbucks on site!

Upon arrival we found our bedsheets had hair in them and what appeared to be blood. We brought this to the attention of both the front desk and housekeeping and neither seemed surprised. The wifi was horrible for the 4 day stay with it repeatedly disconnecting. When we told the front desk staff they provided the customer a phone number to a third party to reset the hotel router. The third party troubleshooter wanted details on the router only available to hotel staff. We overheard others at breakfast complaining about the wifi so we know it was a building wide problem. Not sure why everyone writes rave reviews but it is suspect.
