Spend a long day on the road and came here for the night, hoping to get a taste for the best of what Sioux Falls has to offer. I was not disappointed. The location is absolutely terrific. It is right on the river in downtown Sioux Falls. It is so easy to walk to terrific coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. The hotel itself is currently undergoing renovation to become the Hotel Catlin. They're handling the construction so well, didn't hear any noise or encounter any dust or issues with it. The room was perfect for two travelers. We asked if we could be away from an elevator and they accommodated us without any issues. It was also very nice to have complementary parking at a downtown hotel in any city! This was my first time in South Dakota and they really made me think I was in a very nice and special place.

Staff was nice. Great bar and restaurant. Only 3 stars since my room was shabby with a non-working toilet, they tried to fix it but we ended up changing rooms at 10:15pm. Bed was hard! I stay at HGI a lot and was disappointed- no coffee in the lobby or water! You have to walk a ways to Starbucks! Nothing complimentary. Luckily they are under construction b/c this hotel doesn’t live up to it’s reputation.

I booked a room using the hotel phone # at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown in Sioux Falls, SD. I'm a 68 years old pilot and stay at Hilton hotels because in my 50 years of flying I've NOT had a BAD experience till now. Arrived at 6 PM dead tied to a renovation mess (no Mention of that). Card table check in with one person and a line out the door on a hot July day. In bed at 8 PM only to be woken up at 10 PM with a fire alarm. No workout center (which was conveniently left out as well when I booked as "Oh yes, Mr. Getting a great workout center with breakfast included) and of course NO BREAKFAST AT ALL. Charges were spectacular at $300 for the night however! Good luck with your experience.
