I traveled solo to Tagbilaran for business. The Metrocentre was recommended to me. Upon check in, I was requested to make a 500 peso deposit. The front desk clerk said it was for ”incidentals” and would be refunded upon check out. I asked what was meant by ”incidentals” and she said it refered to any other charges I made on my account, such as food at the coffee shop. I was billeted in a standard room, which could have accommodated two people. It was very comfortable. Bed mattress and pillows were nice and firm. The aircondition unit was working very efficiently and kept me cold, which was what I wanted. The bathroom was clean and spacious enough. I felt a little bit claustrophobic though because the window of my room was a small one and was heavily draped. Even if I drew the drapes open, the view to the outside was obscured by some kind of machine, probably an aircon unit. Amenities in the room included free bottled water (2 bottles), two cookie packs, shampoo and soap. There were nice thick bath towels and rubber slippers for room use. There were a lot of lights, I noticed. Some of the light switches were hidden by the pillows on the bed. I didn't see them at first and had to call the front desk to find out how to switch a couple of the overhead lights off. The room had a nice flat screen TV and a refrigerator. Wifi is best downstairs at the hotel lobby. Signal is weak in the rooms. My booking came with free plated breakfast, a choice of American or Filipino. In terms of serving size, it's pretty decent. Breakfast is served as early as 5 am and so that is really, really convenient if you have to get out early. The free airport shuttle was also another convenient service offered by the hotel. The hotel coffee shop is pleasant. Service was friendly and accommodating. My hosts, who chose this hotel for me, said that they chose this hotel because it was safe. I would go back to this hotel.

We booked a Deluxe room, which at 36 square meters was the largest non-suite of our trip. Upon checkin, they wanted a 1K cash deposit so that we could charge things. They only gave us one card key, and said they couldn’t give us others that night since the hotel was full. When we went back to our room it was much warmer, since the power had been off. The next day we got another key. The room looked good at first. It had a room-service menu and Kleenex (actually harder, like small paper towels). The WiFi was strong, and worked with my Kindle, unlike most. We had various problems with the room, however. The safe was too small for a laptop, and didn’t even have batteries in it. The desk had a bad working position. The bed had only a blanket, not a sheet. The shower fan didn’t work; we told them about it on our first evening there, but they didn’t fix it while we were there. There was no hand towel, only a bath mat and shower towels. The shower could be better: the overhead rain head had low flow and the handheld one liked to fall down. It was hard to figure out how to turn off the some of the bathroom lights in Kew: I figured out that they’re under a water-protecting cover in the bathroom, separate from the main bathroom light switch, which was outside. They want you to put towels on the floor if they should be replaced, and a card on the pillow to replace linens. We saw a cockroach by the door when we came back to the room once, but managed to get him outside of the room. It was difficult to adjust the curtain, and the first night we didn’t close it completely so it was bright in the morning. There was a good bit of street noise on our top floor room. In the morning, we discovered that there’d been a window open since we arrived. After I closed it, there still seemed to be a good bit of street noise, and we discovered that the AC unit wasn't well sealed. One time they made up our room but took our shower towels; they quickly provided new ones when informed. The humidity was rather high unless we turned the temperature down to around 73F. The toilet tended to get clogged, and we had to ask a second time to get it unclogged. In August, 2022 their roof deck lounge wasn't operational after the December, 2021 typhoon, though they appeared to be fixing it. Their restaurant, Café Melecia, had an extensive dinner menu, and our dinner was quite good. We liked our enormous ”appetizer” of beef salpicao and leche flan, the adobong kangkong with lechon kawali not so much. They didn't have napkins on the table, so we had to request them. We didn't like their breakfast buffet as much as the other breakfast buffets we’d been to on this trip. They again didn’t have napkins. Getting there earlier helps for variety (our visits were a little after 9 AM versus a little after 9:30 AM). I liked their ham and cheese omelet, orange marmalade, and egg drop soup. We rated this about the middle of the hotels we stayed in on this trip, and second-best of the four ho

The hotel is new, mostly clean, but in some places there are cobwebs. The staff is kind, but clueless, they couldn’t find tea for two days, they only clean it if you ask. Breakfast is bad, I had to buy my own food.

One of my favorite vacations of all time was a trip to Bohol I made with my wife and two kids waaay back in 2007. We stayed at the Bohol Bee Farm and Dumaluan Beach Resort and I had a grand time at both places, some hiccups notwithstanding. I've been back there a number of times since, but always on business, and never really staying long enough to make an impression on me. Also, both times were before I got onto tripadvisor. Last week, though, I went to Bohol again for the first time in six years, and this time I was there from Monday all the way through Friday, as I had quite a bit of work to do. Again, this was about business, not pleasure, so I definitely was not expecting anything other than a place to rest my head at night, but even then the experience of staying at Arabelle Suites proved to be a distinctly unpleasant one, The bathroom, for one thing, was the kind I really don't like, with a shower area that was not at all separated from the rest of the bathroom, whether by a divider or a curtain. The water pressure in the bidet was depressingly weak, and worst of all, I left the hotel with a boil just under my butt, and given the fact that the only toilet I used for number two the entire time I was in Bohol was at that hotel, and given that I had NEVER had a boil on my butt at ANY time in the past prior to this, I think it's quite reasonable to say that the hotel's sanitation practices leave quite a bit to be desired. Speaking of which, the tiny swimming pool was disgusting. It may have had enough chlorine to burn my eyes out, but the water was still filthy with particulate matter, and it was basically impossible to move so much as a meter ahead without hitting a dead floating insect. The lobby wifi was the only wifi that worked properly; even though I saw a router blinking on the floor where I stayed, in all the five days I stayed there I was never once able to connect to it despite the fact that it was supposedly ”open.” Worse still, the lobby wifi couldn't even make it into the conference room that was less than two feet away. Also, this may not have been a matter of direct concern to me, but with steep stairs, no elevator, and no bedrooms on the ground floor, this hotel is a positive nightmare for persons with disabilities, and it isn't much of a picnic for elderly people either. The food was all right, but not great. It irked me that they didn't have any brewed coffee, and that they didn't actually have coffee cups but rather served the coffee in soup bowls. This wasn't a big thing, but on top of everything else it was really just annoying. The saving grace of this place was the service. It wasn't great, but the staff were always polite and accommodating. Still, I don't particularly feel like giving them good marks for doing something they were obviously supposed to do, especially since they've failed on so many other counts.

I am happy to have known Hotel Gabriella. I have had a wonderful experience staying in this hotel with my family. The food is very delicious, the interior is great, the pool is just right for my height hehe, the staff are very courteous and accomodating, the room is neat and tidy. FFaithalicious_xWe only stayed at the lodge for one night but I would have loved to have stayed here for longer. The lodge and grounds are so quaint and quirky and the staff are so lovely and welcoming - Gloria even brought us flowers for our room when we arrived (she called herself a romantic)! PROS -Location: 10 min walk from the ferry port, supermarkets and tricycles nearby, felt safe and secure -Grounds: the accommodation is a large mansion with a shaded garden area and lots of seating areas to relax in apart from your room, and meet others -Good WIFI -Shared bathroom: Cleaned throughout the day, showers with good pressure and warm water, towels provided -Our twin room: clean, comfortable, enough space, AC, affordable price -Staff: Helpful and friendly staff, possible to organise tours via the lodge -Food: Yummy Breakfast with vegan options available all day for 100ish pesos. In the evenings there is a BBQ and karaoke available if requested (but the lodge is quiet from 11pm) CONS -None: definitely stay here!!
GGuest UserThis is definitely a secure hostel with keycard access to its entrance and to your room. Inside the room, there are lockers too but not all of them are usable. The hostel appears to be a conversion of someone's home, so there is a lounge and dining area for meeting other travellers and a really good kitchen. The 8 bed dorms must have been bedrooms with ensuite. However, that's the problem - if the room is fully occupied, then one ensuite (combined shower and toilet) means waiting. I don't mind waiting for s shower (and it has hot water no less), but waiting for the toilet is not fun. The other disadvantage of this hostel is its location - you must walk down to the main road to pick up any tricycle, habal-habal, taxi or jeepney to go to the city or port. There aren't any dining options near the hostel either but they do have groceries you can purchase if you want to do that. The free breakfast is coffee with toast & jam, bananas, nuts, oats and sultanas - you can have as much as you like, then wash up your dishes. The beds are comfy zones with privacy curtain, light, power outlet and 3 hooks for hanging you clothes. The room is of course air conditioned. The staff are lovely and organised a great day tour for me at an excellent price. If it wasn't for the location and shortage of toilets, I'd give this hostel 10/10.
GGuest Uservery poor experience during our stay - wish we booked with another hotel, but had no choice as other hotels were fully-booked very poorly maintained facilities in the room terrible smelling toilets toilet bowl not flushing well rusty/dirty shower heads / bidets / pipes rooms full of flying insects stained curtains airconditioning too noisy breakfast very ordinary and very limited choices staff were generally polite, but didn't really fix the issues we raised for the room we booked I would definitely not book there again. my whole family, kids included, share the same sentiments. feels awful to give this review, but it has to be said so management does something to improve its facilities and also avoid Bohol getting a bad rap from an utterly poor experience at Bohol Tropics
GGuest UserI have traveled all over the world and the Manager and other workers at Cesar's Place make this hotel my home away from home while in Bohol. They consistently go above and beyond what you would expect for service for such a reasonable price! They are not mind readers so occasionally if I have a special request I do have to ask but they are always very accommodating and super friendly. If you are traveling to Bohol contact them directly. They also have longer stays with and without breakfast. I have seen on some other booking sites they say some rooms are NO CHILDREN under 13 - but definitely contact the hotel directly as they said this was not really their policy.
GGuest UserGood place to stay. Friendly, hospitable and kind staff. Accessible to Mall, wharf station and outside resto. Its just that we have no wifi inside our room need to go out of the room to have signal. But the place and staff are good.
GGreenstone03We stayed here for a night and got very impressed by the size of the room and how cozy it is. The room and comfort room are clean. AC is working but a bit noisy. They have mini ref and a small couch and tv. They have free coffee and bottled water and toiletries. We got the hotel room at a very reasonable price with breakfast. Although we were surprised that they ask for a deposit when we checked in even if the room is paid through my credit card. It was not stated in Agoda, but they will return in after check out. We were expecting that brrakfast would be an a la carte, but it's buffet. But they have few choices only. But overall it's good. I would recommend the hotel. I just got one photo to share. 😁
GGuest UserSo I went to bohol for a wedding and then after the wedding we stayed here in OYO 499. I did not set my expectations high because it was cheapest I can find. When I went inside the guy carried my things upstairs which is a plus since we are on the 3rd floor even without me telling him. The check out was also good and fast. What I did not like was the fact that the backup generators went on and off. So it went on for 1 to 2 hours then turned off and then went again for an hour then turned on again. Overall I know it was not their fault there is no electricity but would have been good if the generators were kept always on.
GGuest UserTwo single beds, much like the type of Super 8 Hotel in our country, there is a shopping mall nearby, you can eat and go shopping, the first floor is a supermarket! The front desk helped me introduce a driver guide, chartered for a long time to go to the Chocolate Hills Eye Monkey, etc. It feels very good, you need to introduce it to you.
JJennifer Glenn Jansalin+: very affordable and walking distance to good restos such as Abi's and Jollibee and Old airport food park. Clean and orderly room (family room). Restroom is clean. Easy check in and check out process. Cool airconditioning. Quiet place.
No breakfast included, which is ok for us. With cold complimentary bottled water for each guest. No TV inside the room, but it is ok for us because we don't need it.
-: restroom faucet and sink leak. No trash bin inside the room except in the restroom.
