GGuest UserA very new, modern hotel directly opposite of Kiel's main train station, and therefore also close to the Scandinavian ferries. My room was spotless, with a nice minibar and coffee machine. It was also quiet (facing the courtyard/ city). Good breakfast, though the seating was a bit... well, not cramped, but I would have appreciated more small tables for 1-2 persons. Overall a very good and relaxing experience, still.
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Steigenberger for one night. The hotel is nice and conveniently located opposite Terminal 28. It also close to the city centre. The buffet breakfast was very good. However, there was only a bottle of water in the mini-bar. The weather was quite hot and there was not ventilation unfortunately.
I recommend anyone to stay in this hotel, starting from the location which was the best location ever in kiel, few steps to the trains station and to the shoping mall and also very close to the sea port, the staff are very polite and friendly, room is nice also, bath is well, the breakfast was super, and the last thing I would say is very nice view.
GGuest UserDon’t stay here. Both times we have been here it has been excruciatingly painful to say the least. The first time we had the so-called presidential suite and another room for the kids. The presidential suite had a door that didn’t fit properly, dirty windows, filthy cushions on the couches. Old-fashioned furniture that has been badly beaten up and they are charging a premium price for the rooms. With the five of us we had quite a bit of luggage and my wife asked for assistance. Eventually somebody from the bar (refused to give his name but someone at reception said he was from the UAE) ambled up to my wife and said “you want some assistance with a luggage?“. Yes replied my wife. He then looked at her and said “we don’t do that here“ and walked off leaving her to struggle with three small children and a number of large suitcases. Absolutely appalling is the only way it can be described. Just simple good manners would dictate that somebody would help a woman with three children and luggage up some steep stairs and into the lift. Just not too hard thing to do for a young man…. Surely? The bathroom is dirty and smelt of mould. The second visit was no better. We would not have stayed here if it hadn’t already been pre-booked and paid. They managed to completely get the booking wrong and then refused to even try and sort it out in order to make our visit more comfortable. Instead, we end up with a tense and very unhappy situation exacerbated by the extraordinarily rude staff at reception who would not listen to our requests. Strongly recommend you stay away from this place.
AayurttasBooked double room at expedia, hotels.com. Pictures shown at reservation and room we got do not match. Receptinist played as if hos english is poor insisting room is the booked one, so you will risk you will not get what you book as there is definitely wrong marketing of rooms: Do not believe in pictures!. Other than that, you will not die if you stay one day here in transit as we did. But, room we stayed was dirty, including toilet/bathroom which is not ok. And we used our own towels as ones we had in room were not clean
GGuest UserThe rooms and bathrooms are as new. Unfortunately, the condition of the bathroom was unsatisfactory, with limescale deposits in the shower under the toilet, and a slight smell of urine in the air. I got 89 euros at the reception for 67 euros through the app, which is related to my high standards. In addition, there is a breakfast that should be charged 15 euros. I personally think that these two breakfasts are too much. Personally, I will go on a business trip and sleep here again, but privately, I may not necessarily spend my vacation there.
This is a modest, slightly old-fashioned hotel. My single room looked quite freshly renovated, though. Enough space to store your things, even a (very small) room safe, a clean and functional bathroom. Cleanliness in the room itself was mediocre (some spots on the carpet and it didn't look like they cleaned the space under the bed, but it wasn't too bad). Quite comfortable bed. Small, acceptable breakfast. The location is convenient, in easily walkable distance from the main train station and close to the Stena Line ferry as well - though the immediate vicinity isn't particularly nice. Reception was closed overnight at the time of my stay. For the price, the hotel is alright.
AAchim StephanskyThe hotel is very well to reach at the outskirts of the city, relatively quietly located. As a night accommodation in connection with a cruise is very recommended, as it is to reach the cruise port in a few minutes walk. It is also well located for excursions to the city. The breakfast is still a little air upwards, since the hotel was very visiting at the time of the visit and the breakfast room (in the EC) reminds a store store (long-track room) there were waiting times for a seating room for breakfast. The hotel is still very new and clean. The rooms are convenient, simple but modern furnished.
Parking facilities for cars are apparently defectware here, but could not be checked as arrivals with the train.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located on the edge of the pedestrian street, convenient access, clean and hygienic, the room is a bit poor in sound insulation ... but this price is still good overall, will come next time.
