Salento Hotels with Shuttle Service

My girlfriend and I stayed at El Mirador Del Cocora for three nights during our visit to Salento and highly recommend it. First, the positives. The views are absolutely breathtaking. This hotel offers the best view in Salento; it’s like having your own private mirador. There’s nothing better than waking up to such stunning scenery. As for the amenities, we booked the Deluxe Double Room with a Bath (room 104), which featured an indoor jacuzzi with the same perfect view. Enjoying a cold beer from the minibar while soaking in the hot tub was a highlight. The room also had air conditioning, although it wasn’t necessary as Salento gets quite chilly at night. Additionally, the service at the hotel is impeccable. The staff are incredibly friendly, constantly checking in on how you’re doing and eager to help with even the smallest questions or needs. Now, the downsides. The WiFi signal in our room was poor, so we had to rely on our mobile network, which was disappointing. The breakfast was subpar compared to other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Another small issue is the hotel’s location. The Amazing view comes with a price. The hotel is situated at the top of the town, which means a climb every time you go out and return. It’s not a deal breaker but requires some planning. In summary, despite these minor issues, I still wholeheartedly recommend El Mirador Del Cocora. We enjoyed our stay very much, the staff are the nicest people, and the views are gorgeous.

This is a sweet boutique hotel a few streets up from the main drag in Salento with an excellent restaurant Quindu on site that I had lunch, breakfast and drinks at. What amazed me most about my experience here, though, is that a wonderful person named Natalia found my wallet here when I must have accidentally dropped it, cleaning out my backpack from a hike, and tracked me down to get it back to me! I just really appreciate the honesty and integrity of this woman and I have a forever good feeling about this place because of the good people that work here. Here's what you need to know about this place. The views are absolutely stunning. Unparalleled and you cannot get them anywhere else. It is clean and well-maintained, safe and serene. It's a very cool experience- it was clearly a house and has been turned into a hotel. We stayed on the first floor and it had a little shared patio that looked out on the valley. All rooms have a great view, but I wish we would've booked the second floor where there is a private patio. You MUST rent a car- we almost didn't and if you don't, it will be a real pain to get to and from the hotel to do anything- it is not near anything (and this was not made clear to us beforehand). Breakfast is included, but it is very minimal. There are no other meals offered, so you will have to get yourself into town to get something. The staff was kind, but not super helpful. The hot tub and steam room and sauna are so-so. The hot tub was quite dirty when we went. We wanted to get in after our hike, in the early afternoon, but it was never communicated to us that there is no hot water during the day, so it was a luke-warm bath (not super enjoyable). The sauna was nice enough. This place has some serious potential, but the effort just isn't quite there. If they offered drinks or dinner it would be so nice and if there was more communication that would help- about renting a car, getting to town, hiking the valley, etc... (I can't imagine what we would've done if we didn't have our own car). Overall, I would say it's an incredibly affordable place to stay, just make sure you have your own means of getting in and out. Although I didn't give it 5 stars, I would still recommend it as a place to stay for anyone coming to the Cocora Valley. This hotel could easily be a 5 star hotel with some improvements.
