Great place. Perfect location, it's a nice walk to city center. Rooms are beautiful and confortable. The hotel is very well maintained for a heritage property. Pool area is very pleasant. Breakfast is good (only the toested bread is very cheap quality). We had very nice dinner with local specialities. I recommend.

Cecil is one of the BEST hotels located in the most beautiful city in the world (British Summer Capital of India) at 7,000 ft elevation surrounded by a 22,000 ft mountain range. Besides all that, our BEST experience of Cecil is their main dining facility. Raj Kumar, the chef, has superb cooking and hospitality. We have been there numerous times. Every trip to India, Shimla, Cecil is automatic. Raj Kumar selects the menus every day for us, prepares everything, and then takes great pleasure in serving us with his own hands. I call it LoveFest for our family. Now we go to Shimla, Cecil, for only Chef Raj Kumar. Ask him to share his life story with you, with Mr. Obroi, a great visionary in the hospitality industry. Raj is a very humble person. You will love Cecil and him.

A bit away from the mall, but the property is an absolute delight! I enjoyed my my walk to the Mall road , else one needs to park at the public parking and use the lift . The staff is warm and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The check-in process was seamless — done right from the comfort of our room!

That sounds like a wonderful experience! The Oberoi Cecil is often considered one of the top luxury properties in Shimla, known for its colonial-era charm, exceptional service, and stunning views of the Himalayas. Staying there for two nights must have felt like stepping into a different time—classic wood interiors, fine dining, and that warm Oberoi hospitality.

Vintage and Best ambience. Best breakfast food. Mr Rajkumar head chef and team including harsh and Deepanshu served us well They were very kind and did their best efforts. The wooden furnishings give a very good look to the hotel Highly recommended

We really loved our stay at The Oberoi Cecil after a tour around India. It’s the perfect blend of colonial elegance and modern luxury. The hotel exudes old-world charm with beautifully appointed rooms, breathtaking mountain views, top-notch dining and truly exceptional service. The staff are warm, attentive, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The location is brilliant, it's peaceful yet perfectly placed for exploring the mountains. A memorable and relaxing end to our journey. We loved every minute!
