Two of the older staff on the front desk spoke English, the younger staff seemed very nervous around me as the only foreigner in town. I couldn’t find the gym. There is a pool, but only for the brave in winter. Handy location next to the mall and supermarket, not far from the the East bus station where you can go to the region’s main attraction. The hotel really needs a washing machine and clothes dryer for self service laundry. I found the bed very firm. Very good value for money.

Looks more like a resort than hotel. Hotel lobby was very grand but facilities are worn down. There is a gym and karaoke room but the karaoke looks more like night club, swimming pool looks old too and it’s closed. Room size ok, necessities are all equipped but lack of power points for charging and no international sockets. Shower surprisingly very comfy good water pressure with enclosed shower and bath tub, and I am very happy to see the washlet toilet. Room comes with a balcony with table and chairs and the view is nice. Free coffee and tea at the lobby. Buffet breakfast variety more local and food are all quite oily, very tasty though. There is a male staff at the reception which I would like to compliment, he helped us book DiDi during our stay throughout using his own account as we have issue with our WeChat. Excellent service! Took DiDi to nearby bainian dong jie for night market and food, must go place if you visit Shaoguan, try the mu mian ting chuan shao, very nice.
