Highly recommend this place! It felt like stepping into a Republican-era mansion, with picturesque charm at every turn. The service was exceptional, with impeccable attention to detail, making it the most stunning accommodation of our Shantou trip. There's also a cafe downstairs, and I absolutely loved the beautiful modern Chinese-style Gongfu tea sets – the tea was delicious too!

A hotel with excellent service. Cleanliness: Superb. Environment: Very good. They offer 24-hour private VIP butler service. We booked the room just to shoot clothes with our phones and didn't require an overnight stay. The hotel's personalized service was truly impressive. While our booking originally included breakfast for the next morning, as we left immediately after our shoot, they thoughtfully arranged afternoon refreshments for us instead.

This star-rated hotel, newly opened in 2025, is situated in the heart of the old town. The old buildings right next door aren't much to look at, though. The hotel itself boasts a unique, stylish, and very chic decor, making it incredibly photogenic. The cleanliness and hygiene standards are also excellent. The butler service was top-notch, and the complimentary goodnight dessert was absolutely delicious.

The 24/7 private VIP butler service was exceptional. The minibar was complimentary, offering unlimited drinks and snacks at no extra charge. Service was excellent: we received special licorice-cured fruit as a welcome treat, along with delicious desserts, and could even choose a personalized room scent. The location is super convenient for getting around, with taxis readily available right outside, and it's close to both shopping and dining options. The bedding and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Our butler even offered to sell them to us at their cost price – half the price of Taobao – so we bought two sets to take home!

The absolute highlight of this stay was the personalized 1-on-1 butler service arranged by Ctrip. From the moment I landed to my departure farewell, the entire experience was simply exceptional, warranting a sincere and enthusiastic recommendation! Our butler was incredibly attentive to detail. He proactively reached out a day before to discuss my check-in preferences, and even remembered my casual comment about wanting to capture some local characteristic photos. Upon arrival, he had not only prepared welcome tea and hot towels but also presented a local specialty – licorice fruit – as a thoughtful welcome amenity. Its refreshing sweet and sour taste instantly alleviated the travel fatigue. Entering the room, I was met with even more thoughtfulness: knowing my preference for subtle scents, he had already arranged for a calming fragrance to be diffused. The faint woody aroma in the room was incredibly soothing, and even the complimentary mini-bar had been stocked with carbonated drinks, just as I liked. Each morning, breakfast offered authentic Cantonese dim sum. The *har gow* (shrimp dumplings) boasted thin skins and generous fillings, while the phoenix claws (chicken feet) were incredibly tender, falling right off the bone – he even mentioned arranging with the kitchen to tailor them to my specific taste! Upon returning to my room in the evening, the turndown service had already been meticulously completed. A freshly prepared, perfectly sweet (and not at all cloying) goodnight dessert awaited me on the bedside table. But what truly impressed me was that he had created a personalized travel itinerary exclusively for me, incorporating my schedule. The lesser-known photo spots he highlighted were not only uncrowded but also incredibly picturesque, resulting in stunning photos. After posting these pictures on social media, my feed was instantly flooded with requests for the locations! Whenever I wished to find a nearby coffee shop or explore a local park, he would meticulously suggest the best routes and even thoughtfully advise on peak times to avoid crowds. There was absolutely no perfunctory service throughout my entire stay; every request was promptly addressed, and every detail meticulously handled. This professional and genuinely warm-hearted 1-on-1 butler truly elevated my travel experience, making this trip twice as enjoyable!

Huaitang Mansion Hotel is hands down the most Instagrammable hotel in Shantou! It offers great value for money and boasts comprehensive facilities, truly living up to its five-diamond rating. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with tea and hot towels. To our delightful surprise, complimentary desserts and Chaoshan licorice fruit were also waiting for us in the room. Breakfast featured authentic Chaoshan morning tea delicacies, with portions generous enough for two people. The hotel also has a charming coffee shop where you can enjoy a coffee, chat with friends, and listen to music. Cleanliness is impeccable, maintained to the highest standards daily. The decor exudes a Nanyang retro vibe – seriously, every corner is incredibly photogenic! Service is exceptional; staff always greet you with a smile, and any issues we had were promptly and efficiently resolved by our dedicated butler. After staying for just a night or two, I've decided this will be my absolute go-to hotel whenever I visit Shantou again.
