This is our second visit to Westbury Lodge in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight and there's a reason why. Rosemary and David are excellent hosts, very organised and have a fabulous property to stay in. In a great spot, quiet, short walk to Old Shanklin, the High Street and the Beach which is probably our favourite on the island. The rooms are exceptionally clean and cool in the heat this July. Lovely comfy beds, clean linen and towels. Tea, coffee making facilities with biscuits, bottle opener and bottled water. There's a clean fridge in the communal area to keep your wine and beer chilled for when you want to chill in the comfy lounge, conservatory or out on the patio. There's a library of paperbacks, we read 4 while we were there and there's more than enough local information for you to enjoy your stay. If walking's what you do then there's plenty of info on the many walks. David's breakfasts are one of the major points that brought us back, plenty of choice sourced locally where they can. Fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts etc and the cooked traditional english breakfast is a must... DELICIOUS! Easy to park outside with limited off road parking for our motorbike and plenty of free street parking. It's a must stay on the IoW for us as every part of the island is accessible within half an hour or so. We will be back!
