Ocean View Hotel

Really nice view. I enjoyed everything. Bathtubs was amazing.

We were bed and breakfast The food was good but the restaurant was chaotic! The room was very good with a nice sea view,but the room was never cleaned during the 5 days of our stay! The staff on duty always tried to be helpful but they failed to forefill any of our requests! We asked for an iron, they hunted high and low for one but never found one!! The evening entertainment was very poor ! My biggest complaint was the parking arrangements!!!! I am disabled and I was assured disabled parking which didn't exist! There was one disabled space in the hotel ,but it was no wider than any other parking space!!!. I Parked in a parking space between the designated white lines at 3pm ,when I went to go out in the evening 3 coaches had parked in the coach area blocking my exit till the next morning.!!!!

Lovely trip with voel coaches staff were brilliant and the food was excellent rooms could do with a little updating lovely location

This hotel is a disgrace . Dirty, outdated and rooms lacking comfort .Bathrooms outdated with a toilet that took 30 mins to refresh. Very hot water comes out of the tap immediately so could get scalded. Poor shower hanging on wall just like a hose pipe. Never saw anyone cleaning. Meals mediocre and went out the last night to a different venue for a decent meal and a decent bottle of wine. Lots of steps so no good for infirm . Staff tried their best and the barmen were obliging but entertainment not good. They should stick to Bingo and quizes.

Stayed in the hotel from 29 - 1 September as part of coach trip. Hotel looked old from outside and foyer matched the look. We had a sea facing room with stunning views but room was a bit dated and mattress was hard. Set meals at 8 am and 6 pm and we had to pick our evening meal in the morning for the evening. The evening meal was three course and our cooked breakfast were very tasty. Lauren was our waitress and she was very efficient and friendly. There is a lift outside the back of the hotel which you can take to get onto the promenade which has a walk to Shanklin old village.

Warning When we arrived at our room the bed was broken, there was dust and rubbish behind the bed. The shower curtain was stained, there were no net curtains. The water was scorching hot. The TV had a white line on the screen. No air conditioning the room was boiling hot so we had to borrow two fans and a 3 point plug as not enough power points in the room The furniture was very old and tatty. The fire alarms went off about 10 times within 15 minutes Our room wasn't serviced or cleaned until we told reception and then the receptionist came and made our bed Thankyou Julie The food was ok the breakfast was nice but when we asked for 2 eggs we were told we couldn't as it cost too much. The entertainment was appalling so we went out instead Pints of shandy were £6.00 a pint The pool was a puddle so we didn't bother to get out feet damp The view from our room was stunning but however our 5 day stay cost just over £1,000..which to me was very overpriced for what it was.. Good luck to managers who maybe able to turn this flea pit around
