In terms of price, this is a very satisfactory hotel, with many local British elderly people staying there. The room is a bit old, and the stairs are narrow and there is no elevator, which is a bit inconvenient to drag the suitcase, but if you just pack light and stay for one night on the Isle of Wight, it is impeccable.
The front desk is friendly and relaxing, giving people the feeling that they should take a good rest and relax on the island. I was surprised that the breakfast was a full English meal, which was enough to sustain me for most of the day's hiking.

Good location, comfortable beds but possibly the worst breakfast I’ve ever had, very little choice and extremely poor quality myself and another guest couldn’t eat it as it was so bad only one member of staff serving everyone resulting in poor service I would go back, as the hotel is nice enough, however would get breakfast elsewhere !

I would not recommend. Room had a damp smell. Bathroom was big enough for an ant. That’s not even the beginning. You walk into what looks like faluty towers. Check in like normal. Loads of questionible tat for sale. Bar had nothing worth drinking in it. Walls that a peace of paper over them and then just some paint to cover up. Bath room door in the room was a sliding door that does not LOCK! and keep opening. Windows were dirty. Roof was falling apart in the room . And best bit yet. The stair bannister rocks. So if you want to just fall over the side you can. And steps so small you can fall down quite easy. I’d would not recommend with small kids. And to be honest Will never recommend this place ever. Shambles. Not impressed

The hotel is very basic, no lift and a lot of stairs which can be very difficult. Staff were friendly, but food awful. Loud music in the seating area for 2 nights out of 3, so nowhere quire to sit and chat with friends.There was a very limited choice at breakfast if you didn’t want a cooked breakfast. There were a few cereals but no fruit ( apart from a serving of 3 prunes), no yoghurt or pastries. The evening meals were terrible, everything served was completely tasteless. Both breakfast and evening meals had to be delivered by waitresses.

Have just come back as the Group Organiser for a forty person group visit to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. This hotel is one of many in Shanklin that provides a good old fashioned British welcome to its guests. It has more than fifty rooms, no lift and lots of staircases in a maze of corridors. It is however kept spotlessly clean and is very well run by its staff. We chose half board and the food was first rate. Again, very standard, but plentiful, hot and cooked to order. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and you won’t find a bad word from any other my 39 guests. Entertainment in the form of decent singers was provided on two of the three nights. The bar was well stocked, not overpriced and was very well run. The staff worked effortlessly, from the two chefs in the kitchen to the two young ladies serving and everyone made sure that everything was in order. A really enjoyable weekend stay folks…thank you.
